Does anyone know who this Eric guy is? I've often seen this name tossed around in Nintendo related threads on /v/ along with ACfag for a several years, but I'm not all that familiar with the lore. From my understanding, he's a Sony fanboy with a fuck-huge hateboner for Nintendo and has been a plague mainly in the Famitsu threads, going on nuclear samefagging sprees - sometimes spamming CP and porn - for hours/days whenever Sony's being laughed at in the news or when Nintendo succeeds at something, but I've also seen others say he's a boogeyman and its really just one autist calling anyone Eric along with "You lost and got raped".
But then you have falseflags like this which would undoubtedly prove the latter statement false.

It's times like these that I wish there was an Encyclopedia Dramatica museum of sorts for every 4chan shitposters because I'm often facinated by what lead to their downward spiral, but the gaslighting and schizophrenia these days has gotten so bad it's hard to make heads or tails of what's what and who's who when you can't get a straight answer.

Your first statement is correct, but the second also has some truth to it. There are falseflaggers who want to make nintendofags look like autists scared of one person so they do the lost and got raped everywhere.

Yeah I really grew to hate that style of posting, or pretending to concern troll to talk about something. I think the utterly worst trend is when a topic gets popular one day and either a copy cat or OP themselves constantly tries to relive the dopamine of that thread by remaking it.

Depends on what you're using. 4chan's phone app was being spoofed by proxy posters to ban evade and was recently updated to stop this. This had this predictable downside of making the app unusable. There's also been an update to what IP ranges are banned. A few popular botnets (Mysterium Dark, awoo.cf) got large swaths of the western world caught in these range bans. Gapedape is trying to solve the problem of ban evasion in the most jeet way possible: by breaking stuff.

I saw someone post on another board that using ublock origin will give you the rangeban notification and turning it off and then resetting cookies will undo it. I use it but I havent had any issues personally so it could be something else.
