btw i have this conversation at least once a month because every time you say "I don't like anime" people start chucking recommendations at you like they're trying to knock out a librarian with a book. the last time this happened someone seriously tried to recommend to me Made in the Abyss as a non-creepy quality nip show.

I don't remember much about FMA except the dog scene. I didn't find it interesting when it was on Adult Swim. I do remember Inyuasha only because they would scream each other's names so much every episode it's written into my fucking soul. KAGOME!!! INYUASHA!!!!

a lot of anime people try to recommend that is not goonbait is just like "cool" in the how an 8 year old boy sees cool. Robots fighting, magic, over the top action sequences, and plots that are very over the top.

On your complaints on the japanese in general, apart from anime, maybe something like kurosawa's 7 samurai, or the film kagemusha. They are alien, but I wouldn't say they're goonbait like anime is.

There's no uwu pedo shit. There's no fan service.
It's an anime about gambling, betrayal and morality.

I think kaiji would appeal to the same group that liked fight club.
Whereas fightclub was about dismantling the entire system, kaiji is about someone being exposed to it and surviving through it.

I'm a Catholic and even I'm not so prude that I object to one character dressing like that. She's a space bounty hunter who does the whole femme fatale approach, and she often fumbles it anyway. Do you dislike James Bond movies because the Bond Girls are sexualized? Also, like I said before, Faye is a well written and interesting character, not just a generic piece of eye candy, and she isn't anyones romantic interest either.

I always took the bounty hunter show girl dressing like that as a commentary on the overtly sexual nature of television and advertising, it feels somewhat realistic in that sense.

However if your bar is having a strictly moral anime where sexualization is practically demonized check out Fist of the North Star. The only creepy characters are all bad guys and Kenshiro punches them and makes them explode.

i applied for a jannie position almost a year ago(?) there is absolutely no way to even get past the door unless you subscribe to their retarded groupthink. that was sort of my last ditch effort to try to help a board and a gen that i held dear but it’s a husk of what it was. it is a dumpster fire completely brought on by the agp cabal that has taken hold. it needs to die. these retards do not need to have their corpse of an imageboard returned to them just so they can defile it some more.
