I'm posting here once more due to the migratory patterns of 4chan users. Apparently, moderators on the /jp/ board have changed the board to a 14 day autosage. The common theory is that this is to combat a necroposter that was bumping threads to quickly get a Hololive general off the board any time it was at bump limit. This has instead lead to the (probably) same guy spamming Hololive threads to bump threads off the board. It has become so bad that talks of leaving have begun and /jp/-centric altchans are now advertising on /jp/ specifically.

Didn't you already have a civil war over vtumors and that's how /vt/ was made?
How are vtumor threads, and even fucking generals apparently, still allowed on that board.

Last I looked there were still generals on /v/. This has happened every time they've tried making a containment board, a contingent of stubborn autists decide "but I want to post this HERE" and refuse to move over. It's one of many reasons why containment boards don't work.

There are threads not big enough to survive the posting frequency of generals like the cripple girl fucker general #3456094. So they're in this awkward spot of wanting to bundle something like puzzle games, but also not having to go to /vg/ in which the thread just dies. The solution would be to clean up the useless threads on /v/ so a puzzle game thread would last on its own, but jannies want to goon so the DOA thread isnt going to die.

A thread on /v/ without a bump lasts for 25~50 MINUTES before falling off page 10, the variable minutes being based off of the timezone (less time during peak NA times, more time during general-to-peak EU times).
A thread on /vg/ without a bump lasts for 4~5 HOURS all around before falling off page 10, outside of horrible events such as multiple gacha games getting big updates at the same time, at which point it might fall to 3 hours at worst.

People on /v/ just generally don't want to leave for /vg/ for three reasons:
A) It's more chaotic, has board culture rather than thread culture and is less streamlined/contained, chaos can be fun.
B) Homeboard, similar to how /vg/ has an issue where people squat down in a general and start discussing their life and interests instead of the game, but for an entire board.
C) Being afraid of a board because of something you read and blindly believed without confirming it yourself, and are now avoiding it for such a reason.

10 years ago maybe. Gen 6 inclusion probably didn't help and should've warranted a /vr2/ board just for it. Also a lot of eccentric schizos, some of which will babble on about how CRT's not being mainstream was a government conspiracy.
It's funny due to the fact that moot created /vr/ with how utterly detested he was with /v/ back in 2013 and now /vr/ is even far worse then the state of /v/ was in 2013.

Slow is good. The speed of boards like that and /vm/ are far better, actually more resembling of movement of /v/ in mid 2000's. Still, you can find your general muck throwing schizo that has no issue of completely destroying threads through derailment in them, but its not as frequent as other boards. There was a discussion of Everquest on /vm/ that was frequent for past few years that got utterly destroyed by one dude since late 2024 who became incredibly obsessed with a specific server who had a tranny owner until everyone was chased away because it became his soapbox believing anyone who told him to shut up to be said tranny. Same goes for /vrpg/ like the FFVIII "R = U" schizo. He's like Beetlejuice. You name him or said theory three times and you'll summon him to a FF thread no matter what board.
