JERUSALEM (AP) — A knife-wielding Arab man on Tuesday killed four people and seriously wounded two others in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba before he was shot dead by armed residents, police said.

Police said the attacker careened his car into a cyclist and stabbed five people across a swath of the city center. Amateur video footage posted online appeared to show armed bystanders shooting and killing the attacker at the scene.

Israel police chief Kobi Shabtai told reporters at a press briefing at the scene that the incident was “an abominable killing spree by a terrorist known to security services” who had previously served prison time. He said the attacker appeared to have acted alone.

Shabtai declined to comment further on the suspect, but Israeli media identified the attacker as a 34-year-old Arab man from the nearby Bedouin town of Hura. Reports said he was imprisoned for four years after admitting he intended to join the Islamic State group in Syria in 2015.

The Abu al-Qeian clan, from which the attacker came, issued a statement condemning the attack and describing it as terrorist operation. “This is an individual act that only represents the perpetrator,” the family said, sending condolences to the victims' families.

Omer Barlev, the minister in charge of police, wrote on Twitter that the attack was committed “by a cursed terrorist that it would have been better if he hadn’t been freed from prison in 2019.”

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett issued a statement of condolences to the families of the victims and said “we will work with a heavy hand against those who commit terror. We will pursue and reach those who assist them, too.”

Palestinians have been accused in dozens of stabbing, shooting and car-ramming attacks targeting Israeli civilians and security personnel in recent years.

Most of the alleged attacks were carried out by individuals with no known links to armed groups. It is rare for such attacks to be committed by Palestinian citizens of Israel, however.

In the Gaza Strip, some Palestinians were seen distributing sweets to express happiness following the attack. The Hamas militant group’s spokesman, Hazem Qassem, praised the attack as “a response to the policy of ethnic expulsion” against the Arab citizens of Israel.

Four jews? I can't believe that 400 jews were killed! What a dangerous place that 400,000 jews die by stabbing! We need to invade Palestine, remember the 4,000,000 jews that were stabbed!

How racist! Israel should import more arabs to show how anti-racist they are.

The only thing more shocking than that a proud diversity-Israeli felt so oppressed he had to go on a stabbing spree; is that Israeli citizens are apparently armed enough to shoot an attacker dead instead of calling and waiting for a community approved counselor.

Open borders for Israel. This wouldn't happen if they weren't culturally enriched.

Wait, so a armed citizen stopped a mass murderer? This isn't right. Armed citizens are mass murderers. Everyone knows that.

Allah Akbar, Death to All Jews. Thankfully Isn'treal will functionally cease to exist in a few decades thanks to the government allowing the uneducated, unemployable retards known as Haredim to breed unchecked.
The Israeli government wants them to breed unchecked because the conservative parties are essentially farming them for votes. The Jews are also waging a race war against the non-Jews by trying to outbreed their competition, and you can't really use the secular Jews with below replacement birthrates to replace the Arabs.

Problem is by 2051 half of the country will not be doing Conscription because half of the country will be Haredim. This coupled with an exploding Arab Population, a looming water crisis, Islamic Extremism at all time highs and only projected to increase in addition to a weakening America and the increasing reality that Iran is winning the Middle Eastern Cold War thankfully spells Doom for I*rael.

The biggest problem for Israel is that they depend on aid and trade with the West. They get roughly $40 billion a decade in aid from America alone and a lot of their tech industry is dependent on the American market. They also get tons of aid from the EU and they have preferential trade agreements in place.

If that ever stops, as in the EU takes a strong anti-Israeli stance and the Americans get weakened to the point where they can no longer intervene militarily or economically in the Middle East, then Israel is done. The Haredi retards are a problem, but not a major problem yet and won't be the ones to make or break Israel. Even if Israel becomes 50% Haredi by 2050, which it won't according to current estimates, it will still be able to limp on if it maintains Western assistance.

Serves them right for relying so much on the goys whilst doing all they can to weaken them.

Yeah, I'll need to see where you got your numbers from. I'm aware of a 3 billion a year aid package which is conditioned upon them purchasing us military equipment, particularly fighter jets. I have never seen it anywhere that they receive 40 billion a year in aid, as if they're not a fairly well developed post industrial economy.

I have mixed feelings towards Israel's treatment of the Bedouin. They used to actively volunteer in the IDF, but because most live in tribal encampment on land Israel needs for development, the government doesn't recognize their villages and doesn't provide them with basic infrastructure. This has resulted in deep resentment, declining volunteer rates, and worst of all, unchecked population growth. Either an equitable settlement needs to be made, or the leaders will be forced to ethnically cleanse them from the Negev. it's a bad situation that I'm not especially optimistic for.

My bad, it was the 38 billion military package that Obama signed. The money is over a decade, not a year.

They get more than 3 billion a year when you add it all up, though. Not even taking into account that specific aid package.

I didn't refer to the Bedouins when I said "Arabs".

Jews cannot survive without diversity. Israel has not learned to become multicultural.
