He may have dressed relatively normally, but I can't imagine what went through the staff's minds when he had to remove his homemade junk holster. I'm not saying that's a reason to refuse service, but it would almost certainly raise some eyebrows.

Not necessarily. Remember that video where Chris is yelling at the MALE JERK in the Shovel Mech? She doesn't stutter once. Her voice is improving and she could probably ask for the piercing and sign the waiver without bringing up blue arms or something. And it's not really fair to assume that Chris is not viable for a piercing just because of appearance; she could be a completely sane and reasonable trans woman who happens to not be very good at passing, or might not even be trying to pass on that particular day. It could be considered discrimination to refuse Chris the right to get a piercing based solely on appearance or mannerisms if she didn't say or do anything of concern.

On the other hand, it's very shady that the piercer would do it a second time even after seeing the wound from the first time. Most of these places won't even give you a piercing if it even looks like it might reject or cause damage (my friend wasn't allowed a wrist surface piercing because she was slightly too skinny for the jewellery to fit comfortably and it had a higher chance of rejection because of that), so it's very worrying that the piercer would look at Chris's existing infection and think "hm, yeah, well dat looks okay"

Did you really need to throw in that thing about pus? :cryblood: :'( :cryblood: :'(

As far as I know, the piercing place never actually saw the infected taint, Chris merely mentioned it when he called to inquire about having it re-pierced for free (because it had migrated). Who knows what he told them? Still, the very fact that there were issues should have given them pause.

Chris removed the original piercing himself, and stored the jewelry in a gum wrapper which he kept in his purse.

Don't get me wrong, he seems weird as shit I'm sure, but it's unlikely that they realize he's 'special'. And to even counter that, in a court of law Chris was found to be competent to stand trial, this sure as hell means he'd be deemed competent to get any piercing he wanted.

Exactly. Being weird or off doesn't make Chris legally incompetent. Yeah, he's stupid and does crazy things and generally doesn't act in his own best interests. But that doesn't rise to the level of him being legally incompetent. In all his troubles with the law, he's never been declared legally incompetent. He's been given leniency for his disability, that's all.

He's had the piercing once before, it got infected, he went to the doctor and now he's better. He acted as a reasonable person would with the first piercing. But the fact that he went to the doctor to get an infected piercing treated shows that he understands what can happen and knows what to do if it happens again. So a lawsuit would be a giant waste of time and money on Charb's part.

Legally the piercer is on solid ground, morally he's still a giant asshole for not turning Chris away.

I can't help but wonder what's going to happen when the new piercing inevitably migrates/gets infected. How many times is Chris going to return to the piercing place to get it re-done? Will someone at the piercing place finally say something, or will they happily continue to take Chris's money (ethics be damned)? How much money can Chris afford to throw at this?

I would imagine that Chris would just attempt to do it himself again.

Chris' arse will first bankrupt him, then kill him.

A fitting end really...

Hey, as long as those sweet, sweet medallion/commission bucks keep streaming in...

Now that he's done the piercing, if he's so adamant to keep it; maybe he can be fed information to better take care of it? Like for example, not use rubbing alcohol on it?

I know it's probably optimistic to think that he could learn from his problems with the last one...

For his sake, I hope you're wrong. :'(

Renee sent him links to a number or articles which contained detailed information on how to properly care for piercings. Chris thanked her and said that he'd take a look at them "when he had time" (which means he never bothered to read them, just like he never bothered to read the sex positive stuff she sent him).

No one's going to determine that Chris is retarded after a five minute meeting. We know better because we have a wiki on the man. To them, Chris is just a weirdo who wanted to give a failed piercing another try. Perfectly acceptable.

Just going through the thread after failing an exam and holy fucking shit, she's insane.

Yup if anything, they would flip it around on Barb. "you know your son is mentally unfit and needs supervision where were you?"

I just hope he doesn't go back to "diddling". He's going to rupture a pus pocket, it's going to squirt out everywhere, and he's going to text Thetan "OMG gurl! My lesbian soul is gaining power. I just totally squirted when rubbing my pierced clit."
The MRSA saga will be one hell of a trip.

That horrible mental image had me laughing on the bus.

As for the first piercing, the guy doing it just sees Chris as another unusual person, no warning sirens blaring.

Piercings are something I don't poke with a ten meter pole, so I don't know if the piercer could determine the state of his taint at the second piercing.

Would it be healed enough for the infection not to be noticable? In that case he can think that Chris just didn't like the old one, and removed it for a Gold Unclit upgrade.

But if he can identify that it was not cared for properly and got infected, than it is very shady to do a second one for Chris.

No doubt somebody here can tell which scenario is more likely, the piercer noticing the trouble or Chris being healed enough for him not to notice it.

Exactly. If they turned away every weirdo with unusual fetishes, that'd probably be half their business gone.

Ya beat me to it. Professional piercers and tattoo people deal with a lot of really "unusual" folks every day just in their line of work. When the last person in your chair wanted her eighth labia ring installed, and the person before that (the one with the green reverse mohawk) wanted a full-back zombie mural, you don't even really bat an eye at someone like Chris.

Farewell, poor taint.
You have endured the trials of infection,
And neglect by Chris.
Now you will migrate
Far beyond the unholy anus,
And finally see the light
While breathing fresh air.
Farewell.

I believe the people who do piercings have a responsibility to deny service to a customer if they can see the area they are asked to pierce is infected, legally and ethically. Legally because if something goes wrong the customer could try to sue them or cause shit for their business practices. Ethically because well I hope to God they have a conscious telling them not to help the person be self-destructive.
