I played the Marvel: Cosmic Invasion demo

As someone who's been checking out of Marvel since 2016 or so, I actually really like it. I guess it's probably hitting my nostalgia spots just right between the animations looking like they were copied straight from Capcom and the fact that it sounds like they got the original X-Men Animated Series voices for Wolverine and Storm, but yeah, I like it. It's not super technical or anything but there's enough there to stay interesting IMO.

Got to play it today myself.
Feels a little rough but the potential is there.
They did my gal She-Hulk dirty.
She's way too bulky and slow.
Seems like you can practically infinite the regular thugs just by spamming your ➡️➡️+Attack.

It's not great... the lack of any variety of aerial moves is a problem, most air attacks combo into themselves but not into anything else. Also if an enemy is even slightly below your plane your hits miss in a way I can't say I've ever seen for the genre.

Cosmic Ghost Rider and Black Panther on Marvel Cosmic Invasion:

I'm hoping we get DLC characters down the line. People I want to play as: The Thing, Ghost Rider, Punisher (unlikely... too Chud coded), Iron Fist (not gonna happen on account of cultural appropriation), any of the Marvel 2099 characters, or any of the more fun regular villains (Doc Ock, Taskmaster, Juggernaut, etc).

You technically have GR and punisher. (Cosmic Ghost rider is Frank Castle possessed by the spirit of vengeance and topped off with the powers cosmic)
Im hoping we see Daredevil and maybe Nightcrawler.

I understand what you're saying, but this stupid "t3h sp0rk of D00M!!!!!" bastardization of Frank is the comic equivalent of "safe horny." Nobody is ever gonna slap a bumper sticker of bottle head not-Ghost Rider on their MAGA truck, which is why Marvel is pushing this so stupidly hard.

Absolum is exactly like i expected. It's not nearly as technical as SoR, but what i'd call a "combo sandbox". You can clear the entire game by just chaining heavy > dash > light string on repeat, or you can style however you want. As a beat'em'up Junkie i absolutely love it.
But on the other side, damn, did Dotemu Cook up a lame as fuck World you really don't care for. It's a giant clusterfuck of things you have seen in other games before, wrapped in a saturday morning cartoon plot but presented as if it's super profound. The game doesn't need deep narrative substance, but it's frustrating when you constantly presented with the pretense of depth.
The artstyle is just ugly. For some reason they decided to Mix cartoony character Design with the gritty shading of Darkest Dungeon/Mignola and then drench the Art in the ugliest colors they could find, mostly deep, muddy pinks and cyans, you know the colors, you know your flags.
Another another thing that is just weird, is how at odds the game seems to be with his own messaging. It's the kind of game where every female character is a badass, or literal goddess and the men are usually crestfallen bafoons or evil dudes. But then the Designers decided to pretty much remove any hint of femininity from their characters. Just in the first half hour you'll meet three women, The orc Trainer, Inn Keeper and thief leader, who are all build like fucking Space Marines and Gallandra, the Player character, is designed to be as gender ambiguous as possible. She doesn't need to be sexy, but with all these characters combined it gives of the vibe as if a woman just CAN NOT be a badass without practically being a man. It feels so ass backwards that i start to feel like a feminist.
I wonder how much of the world building was fiddled with by their EU sponsors, because usually you can trust the french when it comes to art. Maybe the Designer just had a thing for buff women... we'll never know.
The voice acting and dialogue FUCKING SUCKS, nobody talks like a real person and the delivery is monotone and boring.

The game is great to play, and i hate the European Union is all i wanted to say.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT! ABSOLUM UPDATE!
I disabled the dialogue and the game tremendously increased in enjoyability. It's almost like day and night, holy shit. It's so much better when you read it in your head, instead of hearing that fucking faux bri*ish accent every fantasy game has to have. Even the lore comes over way better now.
Another development: I find the bosses to be not as good as SoR4 Bosses. The defensive options in Absolum dictate the pace of bossfights a lot and it feels a bit gimmicky.
