Marvel Cosmic Invasion announcement:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=hjrt46FVre8
With the Cosmic Swap tag-team system , choose two heroes for each level and switch between them instantly.
They did mention adding a tag team system where one player gets to pick two characters and switch between them. Jitsu Squad has that, it's a cool idea that should've been done 30 years ago.
See, you see there? I'm being monitored by the industry, and those guys listen to what I want some times.

Picked up the karate kid bmu.
It's fun but it doesn't seem like it flows very well.
Maybe I just need to spend more time with it.

All the talk of Double Dragon reminded me that a couple of years ago I decided to play and finally finish Double Dragon 3. That game has been a thorn in my brain since the NES rental days. I would do it on an emulator and with save states, I just wanted to see all of the game. I remember my childhood tactic, just stay on the first screen and beat everyone up as they dripped into your kill-box. I only rented it once and it was a 24h rental. Got up to (googling..) stage 3, the forest.
With save states I'll crack this nut in... The game is absolute bullshit, I hate it more NOW than when I spent my allowance renting it.

DD3 was bullshit.
I friggin hate that game.
It was probably the first game with micro transactions.
The arcade version has shops in it where you would deposit real money for things like health, weapons, extra lives...
The horrible memories...

Somehow no mention of Beats of Rage/OpenBOR yet. They are homebrew but some of them have had loads of time put into them.

Golden Axe Curse of the Death Adder

Simpsons Treehouse of Horror

DC Task Force

Marvel Infinity War
Already mentioned a few here (TMNT Rescue Palooza, Nightslashers X Rebalance, Golden Axe Returns and Ultimate Double Dragon), here is 3 WIP ones that I am looking forward to.
Fight Forever:
Buccaneers Shipshape:
MMPR: Its Morphin Time:

Shoutout to the Batman Forever Genesis game which somehow wormed its way into my memory. Decades later, I still find myself mimicking its goofy and over-acted animations.

Worth pointing out that the NES and arcade versions of DD1-3 are totally different. DD3 AC is easily the worst of the lot. Rushed outsourced job I think.

I got on a DD kick recently and revisited most of the old ones. I had it in my head to beat all the NES games "legit", but only stuck it out with DD2... it's much more fun than the other two, has more interesting level design, and is possibly somewhat easier. DD3 is a lot of spin kicking two guys for five minutes until they die, then another two identical guys show up and you do it again, ad nauseum.

I played DD Gaiden for a very short bit and it seems pretty good to me. Much better first impression than Shredder's Revenge.

I'm kind of interested interested in this now, because I assumed it would be 0/10 garbage but people don't seem to hate it. And tbh if normies like a game too much it's a red flag for me, so a bunch of 7/10 type of takes gets my attention.

The arcade Batman Forever is perhaps even worse/better.:

Is River City Girls 2 any good? I got halfway through the first one around launch and enjoyed it well enough.
I remember the progression system being a bit annoying. How much do I have to grind to get interesting moves?

Is there a better game in this genre than Dragon's Crown? It seems like the peak, that really needs a sequel. A remaster of the retro Power Rangers games would be awesome too (especially the SNES ones).

Did none of you play Viewtiful Joe?
I did. It controls like absolute shit, is a visual mess, and is too damn difficult.
