Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind announcement:

This looks like a mess. The beat em sprites are too small and there's multiple mini games that will probably suck and take away from the beat 'em up aspect.

Is there a good power rangers beat em up? There's a few bad ones I've tried but are any good after the Mega drive one?

Mini games are kinda reeking of "how do we pad out our button masher and also prevent retarded Steam reviewers from complaining that it's repetitive". Sprite work looks pretty nice. I think I saw a double jump, otherwise scant hints of what it might actually play like so eh.

The SNES MMPR games(s?) are not shabby. They are flat, not belt scrollers tho.

Only beat em up I'm actually psyched about is Toxic Crusaders.

I mean, that's cool and all, but the graphics still look like some newgrounds flash game shit.
Who knows why they didn't just stick with pixels. Just setting money on fire for giggles I guess.

It's one of the (VERY) few SNES games where i can say the sountrack has some good stuff

Funny, because that game was made by the same devs behind Ninja Warriors and the remaster/remake finally came to Steam:

I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. The combo's are pretty limited if you play solo and no online multiplayer or an endless mode or anything aside from Time Attack and unlocking two brand new characters. It's recommended to play it twice to unlock the giant mech dude who completely changes up how it's played.

Ninja Saviors is one of my absolute favorites. I like it better than SoR4. Unmatched character variety, especially considering giant mech dude, but even between the main three. The ride doesn't end until you get a hard mode 1 life clear with all five.

Amazing how it looks cool and looks like ass at the same time, truly befitting from the Karate Kid title.

Edit: Also here is the Double Dragon Revive announcement:
Confirmed to be a belt-scroller instead of 3D arenas like Streets of Rage Revolution:

Getting strong Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons vibes from it. Not optimistic about this one.

Maybe there will be some kind of scandal when it turns out that every one of these games is using the same AI to draw all the pixel animation. Also, published by Game Mill, lol.

I didn't even know that existed. It's bound to be better than that (I would think). It's Arcsys so I figure it's going to have triple-jumping airdash cancels, three meters, and 999-hit combos. Okay. Like I'd bet a dollar it's at least better than the 3DPD Streets of Rage that's coming up. I'd rather they just make another regular DD without being cute about it. I still want to try the last one, but it needs to be really, really, really on sale.

I envy you.

Arcsystems made Double Dragon 4. At best that game was slightly north of mid. I don't have much hope for it.

Do you mean DD: Neon or DD4? Neon I'd recommend, especially if you got a friend. Double Dragon 4 on the other hand, well maybe if it was on sale for $5 maybe, but I wouldn't spend more than eight dollars on it.

3D SoR5 just makes me think of The Takeover with a slightly higher budget.

DD Advance or that semi-lost smart phone game. I enjoyed Neon but not much replay value there for me. I didn't bother with DD4 because nobody seems to like it, but this new one, if nothing else, looks like it might have a little more budget/ambition than that or the rest of the crowd.

There's just something so "Flash-gamey" about the art of some of these, especially the Power Rangers one.

That's acceptable for a passion project, but not for something commercial.
I thought that one looked alright. It's the HD ones with really stiff animation that look super cheesy to me, or prerendered 3D.
