The homebrew of Final Fight on Genesis/Mega Drive might be getting an official release. If you haven't tried the demo/beta, it's a very good version of the game, though I still leam towards the Sega/Mega CD version for the soundtrack.

The publishers of Cobra Kai and the worst game of 2023 has a port of a 2017 arcade game to show:

I always thought it was weird that modern barcade games aren't ported more often. Cruis'n Blast is pretty mindless but the port wasn't badly executed. I've played that Turtles game for just a few minutes and it didn't seem too shabby. It's from like two or three reboots ago at this point, so they're not exactly striking while the iron is hot.

Sega took down Golden Axe Returns, pretty sad, it is the best Golden Axe module on OpenBor, even if played a bit different from the classic games with the weapon swapping system, older ones (Myth, Legend) really didn't age well.

That's retarded and unsurprising. It's an amazing Golden Axe fan game, but having Sega to DMCA claim it shows that major studios are out-of-touch

Unfortunately they decided to choose Ravenheart for P2:

Hopefully there is more characters down the line, but if they are following the same basic formula from the Phantom, that's it.
Idiots. I would legit give money if they had Evil Ernie. I've never read a single issue of the comic book but I love the idea of a psychic king of the zombies character.

G.I. Joe Demo is out, now you can check its awfulness in first hand:
Feels very ninja turtle-y: dive kicks, vertical jumps etc. Gotta admit it looks much better in motion than the initial screenshots. They may have made the sprites small to accommodate 4-player mode. It's still undercooked... barely any voice samples for example (I think just one, a boss laughing?), not even OOFs and UGHs for hits. I couldn't get the grab or run buttons to work, dunno if it's because I'm retarded or it's bugged. Double-tap to run works but I can't even tell if it has grabs, other than picking up downed enemies RCR-style. Two levels in the demo, each 10+ minutes long but about the same amount of content as one 3-minute level in an arcade game, but hey, that's every indie "arcade" game. Two attack buttons (light + heavy), feels pointless as usual, it's not like it has DMC attack strings. Menus look like placeholders.

Not the worst thing but it's like a weaker, less-finished version of the Toxic Crusaders demo.
