not much info yet but some kind of major police op in Germany. Rumors of a Gunman.

The Guardian] German police are evacuating a shopping centre in Munich after receiving reports that shots were fired said:
attacked passengers[/URL] on a regional train in northern Bavaria on Monday, before being shot dead by police.

German officials were treating that as the first attack with a jihadi motive by an asylum seeker on German soil.

  • The German government has set up a crisis response unit.
  • Residents have been warned via Munich’s smartphone warning system to avoid public places, stay in their homes where possible and turn on the TV and radio.
  • Munich central station and underground system is closed and has been evacuated. Motorists on the motorway into Munich have been asked to clear the road for police and emergency service vehicles.
  • Hospitals throughout Munich are on emergency alert and in “catastrophe mode”.
  • Police have said they could not confirm earlier reports of one or two other shootings elsewhere in the city, including in a large square known locally as Stachus.
What we don’t know:
  • No claim of responsibility has been made and there is no indication so far of the attackers’ motives.
  • It is not yet clear how many attackers opened fire or whether the shootings, described as a “rampage” by police, amounted to a coordinated or planned attack.

Again even if it's Islamic Content, it wouldn't be ISIS persay if he was Iranian. ISIS and Shias get along about as well as IRA members and Protestants.

He was born in Iran and had moved to Germany when he was a child and had lived in Munich for over two years

The Germans have spun this pretty well. Theyve released a pic of him that is years old, and a few outlets are calling him David. That's not his fucking name.

Given that 8 out of 9 of the victims were under 21, I wonder if the shooter was intentionally targeting young people? It could be that there were just more youths than older people present, but still, it's strange.

Yeah, that might totally be a valid point if media, police and politicians hadn't already pointed at Islam to be the most likely suspect and only ditched that when other information became available.

The shooter himself said he was born and raised in Germany in a video that was posted here already, so sauce or no dice..

Its been in all of the media reports. And the official reports from Germany called him David S. I've been following this all night.

I have not seen any claims the perpetuator has been born in Iran. I have not seen any name other than "David S.". You claim that's not his name, so I politely ask you: what is his "real" name and where did you get that information?

I was wrong, his parents were born in Iran, not him. His name is Ali Sonboly

An eyewitness who had been in the McDonald's was interviewed by CNN and claimed that the shooter yelled Allah Akbar. She said that she recognized the statement because she is Muslim herself and when she heard it, she just sobbed.

Thing is, I have only heard that claim being made on CNN, nothing on german media. Nothing. And with them already going for "this was most likely an attack by IS", I doubt they'd just overlook that tidbit.

Has IS taken any responsibility, not as far as I am aware, so I am inclined to assume this was the work of some asshole without a big relation to his religion.

They have not taken responsibility. But I would not be surprised if the German government will lie about this.

On the contrary, I would be seriously surprised. As I said, the german government has never claimed an IS-attack had been anything but an attack by IS. They mainly regurgitate other nonsensical stuff like "This has nothing to do with Islam".
It's where the whole "this is an isolated incident"-bullshit comes from, they'll aknowledge that something (involving islam or some shitty tradition) happened, but claim it's not representative and doesn't happen very often. They downplay the importance when it's something comparatively minor, sometimes, but there has been no instances of any politician claiming (say) the attack on Bataclan was done by a conflicted closeted fag in order to deflect blame away from islamistic terrorists.
 
You guys are taking this a bit too tinfoily, it seems it was just a deranged bullied edgy faggot going on a rampage, he SHOT kebabs.

I know all the events recently builds up paranoia and everyone is going "ISIS" (so did the police which is why they have to clear it up) but retards like those existed before. He seems like a new Elliot Rodger for me. Are you going to claim the Supreme Gentleman was also a cover up?
 
And even if he had some ties to radical Islam, it sounds like it would be more in line with the Orlando and San Bernido shooters in that it was individual assholes who had long track records of being dicks and probably hopped on the radical Islam train because it was a convieniant outlet for their dickery (kinda like the relationship between the Colombine shooters and white supremacy, they had white supremacist views and shot a kid for being black but weren't formal members of any org and did all the planning and execution by themselves).
