Yea, it shouldn’t be news that Republicans are corrupt. Corruption’s been happening under them since the Grant presidency in varying ways.

But their policies are nice and popular, which is why they’re still electable. And they’re less prone from getting the government and the people tied up to then, say, a multi-billion high speed rail project that goes absolutely nowhere.

Not really, if Trump himself announced that he raped kids it would still result in at least some people saying "well it was a long time ago and obviously he's sorry if he's admitting it so he must be normal now". Half of all people are more stupid than average and all that.

Do we have any further context to this exchange? It could just be awfully written but it sounds more like they're discussing a hesitant unnamed subject who they want help from to take down Trump as part of some plan, and to me it sounds like they're suggesting they have tapes of that subject which they're trying to leverage to get his help. Allow me to explain.

Ambiguous as to "him", but arguable this is clarified by Wolff's response
"Just his plan. Trump is going to go down--"
Barring extraordinary context bombs, the only sane reading is that "Him" and "Trump" are different people.

What is less clear is if there is a singular "Him" which they want to talk to that has a plan, or if there is a "Him" with a plan they both understand and a different "Him" they want to talk to about some aspect of the plan.

This leans double him but I'd argue not definitively given how intentionally vague they're being. What it does imply is that at minimum one subject they are talking about is working for someone currently and in the context of "Trump is going down" implies that subject is working for Trump. This makes sense as compromising people working for someone is a great way to work towards bringing them down.

e: To clarify, this leans double him because why would someone come to these two with a plan if these two are not sure if the planner wants to strike out on their own? Again not definitive but leans for sure.

Clearly whoever they want to talk to about some aspect of "His plan" is intended to be influenced by the presence of "tapes". In the context of Epstein we are led to believe these are sexual blackmail. But why would Wolff be telling Epstein to tell this subject that Wolff has tapes? Wouldn't Wolff just tell Epstein "Also, gently imply that you have tapes?" "I" makes no sense and this nigga is supposed to be a writer, because that's either Wolff implicating himself as possessing Jeffrey's tapes as well which I'm not sure he'd be dumb enough to do in writing...or maybe the tapes Wolff refers to are some other kind of blackmail which Wolff does in fact possess.

There is also a couple of ways to read this given the subject is most likely to be a co-conspirator in a plan to take down Trump; one is that the tapes are of Trump, the other is that the tapes are of the co-conspirator. Either in my view are equally likely if the email ended there, since the presence of tapes on Trump could convince the subject to go along with the plan as its success is more likely with the presence of "tapes"...or convince the subject to go along with the plan by coercion due to "tapes" of the subject.

To me this shoves the needle over towards "the tapes are about the co-conspirator for the plan". This clearly suggests that one or both of Wolff and Epstein think that cooperation is far from guaranteed from this subject under Trump's employ for this plan.

By the end of that email it sounds more like there's two "Him"s to me: one with a plan and one they want to talk to, but it's not definite due to perpetual vagueness.

I'm going to laugh really hard if this exchange ends up being about the piss-tapes fiasco.

If you ever actually trust a politician you get what you deserve. You don't get anywhere in politics by being the most moral guy. The people that get far in politics are literal psychopaths, or at best some kind of narcissist. They lie for a living, they use underhanded tactics for a living, they indirectly get people killed with their decisions for a living, they sell out the American people for a living.

Trump was just the lesser of two evils. But he is by no means, not evil. Even if this never happened, look into his ties with Palantir and everything that's happening there. Either way, the American people are being slowly sold out by our own government, and we are turning a blind eye to it. Our government is letting more, and more of these huge corporations, that benefit off of things that are a net negative for this country. Like google, they decided they are a monopoly, but they don't feel like doing anything about it. Blackrock is going to make sure no one can buy a home, and everyone lives the rest of their life renting. All of this shit only happens if we have a government that is willing to turn a blind eye, or even aid these companies, and if anything I've only seen it get worse under alleged pedophile Donald Trumps' presidency. I expect after this is all said, and done to be in a worse place than ever before. We have people like Nick Fuentes gaining genuine popularity. I think especially with the level of data they are setting up to collect, and being able to tie everyones identity to everything always. We are going to potentially see some serious censorship coming up in the next decade or two. And we are just ignoring the lead up to it, and letting them sell it to us as "protecting the kids"

If I was going to look past being in those files, and lying about it constantly, which is a giant ask. It would have to be because I thought he was actually doing anything worth a shit. But everything I've seen him do is either the bare minimum, that our government should have already been doing, like deporting people that are illegally in the country. Or PR things that might have overall been good, but really in the big picture don't matter that much. Like letting Ross out of prison. And the tarriff thing. I'm so tired of the "It's for leverage" argument. You aren't just holding leverage over the countries you are placing those tarrifs on when you do that. It effects us here, every time. The countries that are having those placed against them, are selling the products to us, and the effects of those giant fluctuations effect us in the end. Especially when it's as erradic as these have been. Never mind the fact that we should be decreasing money going to the government, not giving them another avenue to extract money they don't deserve. Then you have things, that just get into speculation. Like insider trading, and I haven't seen hard proof, but there has definitely been some suspicious stuff going on with it, and that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Either way, my point is, acting like Trump is some infalable king are as cringe to me as the people with Trump derangement syndrome are.

I honestly hate every side of the political system we have now. Everyone fucking sucks, they all lie. Neither side has any actual principles they won't violate, if it means they will get a win on the other. And even their own beliefs contradict themselves.
