My dad went from planning on voting for Trump to voting Libertarian this election, and it was caused entirely by Trump's performance in the debates (although his VP pick didn't help matters). While places like CNN and MSNBC, and many others in the media are very obviously biased against Trump, I think its a bit flawed to not cast any blame on Trump himself. The guy has done plenty to hurt his image all on his own.

So basically he abandoned the guy who made a jackass out of himself for the other guy who made a jackass out of himself?
It's more of a party vote than a vote for Johnson. I don't think anyone is delusional enough to think he has a chance to win, but hitting that sweet 5% may help down the line. This election perfectly shows all the flaws in a two party system. All the Aleppo jokes in the world won't suddenly make Clinton or Trump qualified candidates.

Null, I don't hate you or think you're a bad person for supporting Trump. It actually makes me sad to see you so upset. Not in like a "oh, isn't that sad" condescending way, but you're clearly experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety and it's causing you to suffer, and as a fellow human being seeing you suffer is saddening.

From my perspective, it seems strange that this should be so, since a lot of the reasons you seem to have for hating Clinton are based on things that are provably factually untrue ("murders") or grossly inaccurate misconceptions ("pay for play"). Election tampering in Illinois and Maryland? The Democrats could run an admitted sheep rapist and win both of those states, just like Alabama and Mississippi would vote for a ham sandwich if it had an R next to its name.

I don't like Clinton for a number of reasons: I have no faith in her ability to stand up to Wall Street, her handling of the situation in Honduras was the sort of 20th-century realpolitik I had hoped we could move past, she surrounds herself with war criminals like Kissinger and domestic hacks like Summers. I don't think she's going to be a great president. But she's not going to be apocalyptic, she's not going to get us into WW3 or anything.

I hope you can find some peace this election cycle. I understand that the stakes are so high that it may seem like not being on edge all the time is wrong, but life will go on, and I am sure that your friends in the service will be as safe under a hypothetical President Hillary as they would under a hypothetical President Trump.

now we have close to 11+ women coming out and saying that Trump sexually assaulted them.

if you honestly believe 11 women suddenly "found the courage" to come forward (and cash in on easy fame) you're dumb as shit

we can all play listen and believe and pretend there's no way someone would lie for attention but honestly 30 seconds here should've dispelled that.

i'm just surprised no one's dropped the hard R yet. i guess saying straight out "rape" would prompt a more thorough investigation of the claims.

The other problem is that the white working class is understandably unwilling to pack up roots and move out of areas no longer supportive on the same scale (coal mining towns for example) and also either unwilling or unable to shift into the category of skilled labor, or don't have those opportunities anymore.

It's sad, but I really don't see a solution for this at all.

The main problem with white people being unwilling to move to areas of prosperity is that they don't have the financial means to do so. With a lot of areas completely falling apart over the last 20-30 years, it's not as if these people can just flock to the cities and hope they can get an office job. They'd have neither the education nor the experience needed to do so. In other words, they'd be fucked.

Just like this country, really. Either Hillary gets elected and we most likely go to war with Russia because reasons and a few American cities get nuked to oblivion. Or Trump gets elected, America all but declares bankruptcy and the western states welcome their new Chinese overlords.

We either get to play Fallout 4 IRL or The midwestern states get to play Battlefield IRL. We are all fucked.

I actually saw that in the area I was student teaching. Some people had legit never left their hometown. And it's a town of less than 1000 people.

Yup it's suspect that every single one of the Trump accusers uses language like "he touched me inappropriately" or he made a sexually threatening gesture towards me," instead of "he raped me." It's deliberately ambiguous and borderline impossible to prove or disprove.

A Play in Three Acts

Act 1
"I like to touch pretty women. They don't stop me. You can grab them and do whatever you want when you're famous."

Act 2
"Donald Trump grabbed me and I couldn't stop him because he was famously litigious and much richer and more powerful than me."

Act 3
"Hm, what this bitch is saying doesn't make any sense. Probably lying."

Actually, one of the women is accusing him of rape. There's a lawsuit pending.

I so wish for the optimistic rating. I trust Hillary less when it comes to keeping things cool with the Putin than Trump. Sure Trump may go to war with Mexico at worst, but Mexico is not Russia.

Seeing how Trump thinks coordinating a suprise attack on Mosul with forces ~40,000 strong, including Kurds, Syrian rebels, US Special Forces, and Iraq, I think he'd find a way to fuck the whole operation sideways.

A war on Mexico is way less probable than with Russia at this point even if Trump wins. Trump is even flip flopping about the Wall is going to be paid by Mexico.

I do not think that Trump would go to war at all with Russia or Mexico, but I was going by the most autistic leftist scenario about him that is not totally impossible.

Nobody's going to war with Russia. The US would have little or nothing to gain and Putin knows he would lose (he would). The worst case scenario, as far as I can tell, would be the US shooting down some Russian planes in Syria, Putin bitching and moaning impotently, and that being the end of it.
