At least 18 are dead after a series of explosions and shootings. There have been at least 4 separate, but coordinated incidents.

CNN live stream:

CNN also just announced that there are also 60 hostages being held in a theater.

Update: More than 128 dead. We got a new rating. Basically, everything went fucky.

A refugee camp is now burning

also fresh from the news, witnesses calim that terrorists were yelling "allah Aqbar"
http://twitchy.com/2015/11/13/media...errorists-shouted-allah-akbar-during-attacks/

Edit:
I have a live stream here.

According to a friend I have in France: France has closed borders, Curfew called for the first time since 1944 and 7 simultaneous attacks.
Although the military has been deployed, it is speculated that they wont remove kebab, they'll just sit around for a week and when no mudshits try anything they'll go back to "normal".
Apologists are already on full swing

French cops arrested a guy who claims to be Syrian and from ISIS, according to Fox
I'm sure this goes without saying, but I generally wouldn't trust what FOX news has to say as they have a tendency to make up things for a better story while details are unconfirmed.

I feel sick. Nothing like this should be allowed to happen, and yet it does. Why are these people so evil?

Welcome to the human race, when, where desperate, we will do almost anything to survive. Also, psychopaths, nutjobs, and cruel people exist and seek to enforce their wills by force, legislation, and so forth.

Quite simply? Some people are just maladjusted. People like this do not deserve a life in prison and three square meals a day.

EDIT:

As the person below said. They could be sick, insane, or evil. But, well, now? Said people are beyond help. Just like putting down rabid dogs now. :/

Yeah, I don't get the mentality. They will never be a member of the UN, so what is their end goal other than murder?

I can explain the mentality of the murderers themselves. They're Islamic militants. They believe that murder in the service of Allah- especially the murder of Western infidels- will net them 72 virgins and an eternity in paradise. They're not hoping to get away with this, they want to get killed, or "martyred."

I've actually read a lot about the terrorist mindset because I want to understand things like this. Higher-ups radicalize and brainwash young men (and sometimes women) into believing that they'll be rewarded by Allah for slaying infidels when in reality they're only being used to do the higher-up's dirty work. I can explain the murderers, but I can't explain the people who hide in the shadows and plan this shit out. I don't know what they want, and I don't think anyone else knows, and that's what's so terrifying.

Probably some of the high up people think that they will be able to enact real change through this but there definitely is just an aspect of simple sadism involved (and likely in the lower people also)

You try to help people and they do things like this. What do they do now that the camp has burned down?
The fire is unconfirmed. A Polish reporter has said "yes" but the BBC says the images are from a fire on November 2nd.

You mean aside from being terrible people that if they wanted to, kill the UN itself? Not much.

Aside from maybe total fear from everyone (even North Korea).

Well, spreading terror IS the definition of terrorism. That's probably what they're after.

Also, I haven't heard this mentioned here yet, but there were two other major terrorist attacks today: one in Lebanon (killed 44) and one in Baghdad (estimates of the death toll are 19-21). They were suicide bombings, of course. The Islamic State is speculated to be connected to all three terrorist attacks. I'm on mobile so I can't post links right now, but they're all top news stories.

At least 1500 French soldiers were deployed and the border has been closed. Unprecedented responses since World War 2, I think.

I also read that hostages in the concert hall were being executed one after the other before the police freed the survivors.

If I am correct (and I hope so), two of the terrorists have been killed.
