There's that. I think what the real problem in all this is basically the film is trying to distance "007" away from James Bond, as the two have always been there since the very beginning, and this is something that's hard to do when you've had 60+ years of Bond being associated with the number.

They think by calling this new actress 007 that we will think that she is capable but no . All 00 operatives are highly skilled and highly expandable , the only reason 007 was the most prominent was because he just was lucky enough not to die and he knew even if he died 008 or any other 00 operative would pick up where he left off , getting a green 00 operative and giving the same monicker as James Bond really defeats the purpose of naming a 00 operative a number. Whatever happened to the days when female characters were written to have recognizably female traits and more often than not still be sexy, because there's nothing fucking wrong with being sexy, male or female.

Even fucking Sarah Conner in T2, who was all bulked up and macho, still had the maternal instinct of wanting to protect her son, was still recognizably a woman.

"Misogyny" is used as a shield from criticism, but I love female characters when they're done well, when they're still recognizably... ya know, female, not whatever this warped modern bullshit is.

It was a commercial success...only because it was before Endgame. Not really much of an accomplishment except in scamming the audience. If it was at any other time the film would have made way less because it's word of mouth was so meh. But people had to see it because "It's supposed to be important to the plot of Endgame".

I was more or less talking about the movie itself though. Because everyone predicted it was going to be a generic boring movie with a feminist bent, and it exactly was.
