I was expecting very little from Korea but even still I feel like it's a pretty light sentence. I was expecting either nothing at all or 1 year. A 6 month sentence might change his behavior for a month but he'll be right back to it after that. Labor doesn't mean shit, that just gives him something to do to pass the time. And there's a reason LegalMindset keeps saying he might have to register as a sex offender in the US. Because it's going to be one of those things that is technically a possibility, just like a 3 year sentence was technically possible, but in reality won't happen. Anybody acting like this is some kind of win over Johnny is just coping.

I hope the prosecutor appeals. Johnny did not deserve a mitigated sentence because of his behavior, which was disrespectful to the court and to Korea as a whole. If he had only committed one offense and showed that he was sorry, this sentence would make sense. Johnny's apologies weren't believable, and from time to time he would call Korea a stupid country and deliver other insults. I would have preferred that an example had been made of Johnny, because that could actually serve as a deterrent for nuisance streamers.

I'll make the bold prediction that Johnny won't learn anything even with six months labor. I'd say he'd be back out doing the exact same thing but I don't think any country is gonna let him after he gets deported back to the US. Maybe Mexico, but he's not gonna go anywhere that some cartel guys could kill him with zero consequences for kicks. I guess he could go in somewhere in the US but he probably also knows that someone is gonna beat him up or shoot him if he tries the crap he did in Japan/Korea.

This is actually a lot worse for him as well, depending on the State he lives in he's going to have a bitch of a time doing literally anything important now that he's considered a sex offender.
Think he lives in Arizona before he went on a world tour of being an asshole. No idea what the Sex Offender laws are in Arizona

As someone who lives in Arizona, and who's worked with sex offenders in prison through my Church, it's pretty rough.

You're registered for life, regardless of what you did. You have to Avoid contact with minors, follow curfews set by your parole officer, submit to regular monitoring, and attend whatever counseling your parole officer gives you. Register every single job, vehicle, place of residence and so on with the state. He may get lucky since he didn't do anything with a minor though, which is where Arizona is strictest.

Here's a quick read about it.

Personally, I think more streamers should be sentenced to prison camps. And honestly, maybe we should even build camps to help them concentrate.

Any retard who thought he was getting years was always delusional. I'm surprised he got any prison time, and doubt he'll actually serve the full 6 months. Being a registered sex offender is a win for fucking his life up stateside, though.

Yeah, that is an upside. He won’t get far with that on his record.
I was honestly expecting South Korea not to go with throwing him behind bars but kept under tight watch.

Unfortunately for us, at least in Arizona, he can appeal to have his new status removed after a time.

13-3826. Petition to terminate sex offender registration; hearing; notice

A. A defendant who is ordered or required to register pursuant to section 13-3821 for an offense committed in violation of this title and who successfully completes a term of probation may petition the court for an order to terminate any duty to register and shall serve a copy of the petition on the prosecutor. In the petition, the defendant shall avow, under penalty of perjury, all of the following:

1. The defendant is at least thirty-five years of age at the time of the filing of the petition and was under twenty-two years of age at the time the offense was committed.

2. The victim was at least fifteen years of age at the time of the offense, was a peace officer posing as a fifteen, sixteen or seventeen year old minor or was a fictitious minor purported to be fifteen, sixteen or seventeen years of age.

3. If the defendant is required to be registered because of a violation of section 13-1405, the sexual conduct was consensual.

4. The defendant did not violate any of the sex offender terms of the defendant's probation.

6. A court has not determined that probable cause exists to believe the defendant is a sexually violent person pursuant to title 36, chapter 37 or that a sexually violent person proceeding pursuant to title 36, chapter 37 is not currently pending.

7. The violation did not involve more than one victim.

8. The defendant was not sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the state department of corrections for the offense for which the defendant was required to register.

9. The defendant was not convicted of more than one offense involving more than one victim.

B. On receipt of the petition, the court shall set a hearing and provide sufficient notice to the state to allow victim notification. The state has the burden of establishing by a preponderance of the evidence that a factor listed in subsection A of this section has not been met. At the hearing, any party may introduce any reliable and relevant evidence, including hearsay evidence. Before ruling on the petition, the court must provide all parties, including the victim, with the opportunity to be heard.

C. The court shall deny the petition if the court finds that any factor listed in subsection A of this section is not met.

D. Notwithstanding subsection C of this section, the court may deny a petition if the court finds that a denial is in the best interests of justice or tends to ensure the safety of the public.
