The absolute worst part of this is that they don't grow cotton in South Korea. I checked. Closest we could get is in a textile factory making cotton clothing.

Ironically, Somalia is in the top 75 producing contries.

According to YouTuber Atozy, who was present for the sentencing hearing and has been flying to South Korea to attend Salami's trial since the beginning.

Edit2: Atozy was livestreaming outside the court, discussing the case with other people. Salami was considered a flight risk and arrested on the spot. They asked him to argue why he shouldn't be considered as a flight risk, then like a dumb nigger told the judge that he misses his family and would go home. :story:

There's a federal law called the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). Just like if you were convicted in a state and had to register, if you were convicted in a foreign country and had to register, you have to register as a sex offender when you get back home.

Any retard who thought he was getting years was always delusional. I'm surprised he got any prison time, and doubt he'll actually serve the full 6 months. Being a registered sex offender is a win for fucking his life up stateside, though.

Somali’s penultimate court appearance was marked by him upsetting the judge by saying the was “unfair” because another Korean streamer, Bongbong, shared the same Deepfake videos he had but was still not facing any consequences. The prosecution recommended three years behind bars with hard labor for Somali, which made his mother file a petition, asking for leniency.
Somali will reportedly be sent to a specialized labor prison where his phone will be confiscated. He will also receive offender status.

What are the charges against Johnny Somali?​

Lawyer and YouTuber Legal Mindset, who has been documenting Somali’s trial since the beginning, reported that he was found guilty of all charges. Legal Mindset wrote in an X post, “Ramsey Khalid Ismael (Johnny Somali) has been found guilty of all the charges, including the deepfakes which he plead not guilty to. GUILTY”.


Somali is facing four charges of interference of business, two charges for violating the Minor Crimes Act, and two charges of sexual violence crimes.

He is accused of having streamed himself playing offensive noises on the subway, including speeches by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He allegedly also performed lap dances on a memorial that commemorates Korea’s World War II sex slaves. He was banned from YouTube as a result of the stream.


Somali opened up about the case in an appearance in court last month. He argued with the judge that what he did would not have gotten him in legal trouble in the United States.

“I did some foolish things under the influence of alcohol, and I realize the consequences,” he said. “I sincerely apologize for this. Having been born and raised in the United States, I did not realize how serious the consequences of these actions, which would not be illegal in the United States, could be in Korea.”

This is actually a lot worse for him as well, depending on the State he lives in he's going to have a bitch of a time doing literally anything important now that he's considered a sex offender.

Don't forget this flags him in nearly all foreign countries he may try to visit by effectively giving him a criminal record that if it has a US equivalent will be flagged at nearly every country he visits.

As Americans and those in the Western world we enjoy something pretty nice, Visa Free travel.

We can board a plane and just present our passport to enter most countries with no difficulty or just paying for a visa upon landing.

Somali will likely be turned away at any immigration checkpoint that shares databases with the US.
