Most minor of PL time, because I'm slightly MATI at the moment. The only threads on /v/, or really all of 4chan at this point, that I really visit somewhat consistently unless there's some big breaking news story are the Famitsu threads. Quick TL;DR, Famitsu is a publication that among other things, gives weekly sales totals for video games in japan, and it's by far the largest nation that we get actual sales data from, especially weekly. You're lucky to get monthly rankings in other countries, with no telling if there's a 10k or 1 million sales difference between 2nd and 3rd place. Because this is hard, factual data, it unfortunately brings out some of the absolute worst spergs and console warriors on the internet, especially of a specific variety. It was discovered a couple years back that a lot of the schizos were unironically coordinating in a discord server, taking literal shifts to derail the threads. It's even been hypothesized that they have a mod/janny in that server, because when things REALLY wouldn't go their way, there would be spam of everything from cp, to gore, to scat, you name it, yet somehow none of them ever seem to receive bans, including ones that use tripcodes. The original domain of the archive linked below was actually lost because one of these schizos posted cp and then reported their own cp before the archive could manually delete it, because they were upset about past statements they made while using their tripcode being brought back up. One of the members of this server was even doxxed as Gavin Edward Herman, who has a thread here (started by himself, about an alt account of his):

However, things reached a new low in the thread yesterday, as gore was spammed for hours on end, mods proved they were in the thread by deleting far more innocuous posts (people have also gotten bans merely for REPORTING the illegal shit these cretins spam in the past), but leaving the gore up. More and more people started to point this out, which they were almost all banned for, until the
NOOOOOTICING started to break containment, and finally, after multiple hours, the gore was all deleted (though the schizos resumed posting almost immediately) while anyone calling it out actually received a ban.
TL;DR
/v/ is run by an autistic discord cabal of schizophrenic child pornography traders who are free to post whatever the hell they please, with at least one mod almost assuredly involved, all because they're upset a toy company they don't like sold more than a toy company they do like in a country they don't even live in.
