You know how whenever you see someone trying to defend pedophilia and they inevitably later turn out to be a pedo themselves in eleven out of ten cases, no matter how much they initially deny it (Amos Yee being just one example)? It's because nobody would choose to die on the hill of defending something so universally understood to be repugnant, unless they were trying to justify their proclivities to themselves in order to ease their conscience.

They're effectively asking for permission, which for them comes in the form of someone - anyone - saying "I agree".

Josh said he was legit trying to change his opinion at the time and he stood by his actions not being wrong if you actually watched his podcast.
