With this in mind, we can save trans kids from suicide by banning all discussion of trans issues. That way, they’ll never know what transgenderism is, they’ll never know that they’re trans, and they’ll never become suicidal.
This is glib, but it touches on something I've been thinking of a lot, which is the phenomology of disease and diagnosis. An old friend of mine from uni has recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and watching her entire personality turn into advocacy for it on social media has been.... interesting. She is quite clearly recontextualizing her own experience of her life with this diagnosis in mind, so that being a chronic weed smoker is now evidence of her suffering. It made me dig into the condition more, though I think most here would be aware that fibromyalgia is controversial, because despite the pain experiences by sufferers, there's no apparent abnormalities in the tissues of the pain points, often the joints. It's very much a diagnosis in the gaps, with symptoms and a lack of other explanations being the essential criteria.

I found this book from 2005 that was a researcher interviewing women who suffered from fibromyalgia, and it was where this concept of the phenomology of disease piqued my interest. The observation the researcher made was that the diagnosis provided an abstract framework for many of these women to interpret their own experiences, one that fixated on pain. Potentially normal aches, the general plagues are being alive, became experienced differently due to the diagnosis provided, it reframed and shaped the experience of the diagnosed. Whatever the cause, or causes, of people experiencing the pain that leads them to seek help, the fibromyalgia diagnosis creates its own modification and alteration of the person's experience and can make their subjective experience and outcomes worse.

You know how Blanchard noted that most HSTS troons in his study came from more conservative families and cultures? See, I think this meshes with what I wrote above, and speaks to the phenomology of identities in general. In particular with transness, I think a big issue is that, whatever one of the varied sources troons get their initial discomfort from, the "cracking egg" process is essentially infecting them with a set of memes that fixated them on their suffering and recontextualizes their own experiences as tormenting and requiring extreme actions like suicide. It's likely many of the men trooning out now would still display some other psychological or behavior anomalies if they weren't exposed to it. Maybe there are some that truly do need to transition to live a functional life. But there is no way to know that right now, what percentage that might be, because the conceptual model we are providing people to understand their own experiences is driving them to extreme behavior.

I actually feel like this about even sexual orientation as well. I feel as though the framing of gayness is essentially prescriptivist now. Instead of just not passing any particular judgment or assigning any category to kids until they reach puberty and start experiencing sexual attraction themselves, adults are searching for reasons to label them one way or another and providing them with very specific cultural frameworks to understand themselves. You are a gay, let me pay you last gaga songs because that's part of "gay culture". Effectively, gayness becomes analogous to the specific gay subculture in the United States, specifically the New York and LA one that everything else pulls out of (or Atlanta for the black gays). That's why I don't think that the current system is good, even if I think that previous ways that "Western" society conceived of sex and sexuality were also bad. The fact that previous models had negative or destructive effects for many doesn't mean that the current model is superior or more based in reality.

This make me want to scream for reasons I can't quite articulate. Feminists have long fought against the pressure for women to "earn" their womanhood through stuff like cosmetic surgery and calory restricting only for men in dress to define those things as the very fabric of womanhood. Transwomen often point out that cis women have body dysmorphia as if it's an own and not a proof of the immense pressure that society put on women's bodies. And then they have the gall to call terfs misogynistic for not validating a cis girl's anorexia or something.

Feel free to rate me mati and autistic, I earned it.

Humans (men and women) having insecurity with their body image is not analogous with passing. Feeling ugly and unattractive because you don't match up to idealized standards is a very common experience and does not involve the fear or desire to be seen as a different class of being than you are. Short dudes and flat-chested chicks are not worried they will be seen as women or men, respectively. That extra context is what makes one a standard human experience and the other obsessive lunacy

Funny little anecdote for you to be Thunk-Provoking over: Israel had the first trans contestant in the Eurovision's entire history. Not like you need more reasons to laugh at the hypocritical retardation of Queers for Palestine, just add this to the pile.

Eurovision starts today. Ireland’s entrant, Bambie Thug, is a they/them with a demon gimmick.

It certainly dressed the part.

a darkened stage. A single spotlight falls on Bambi, clad in its best tranny flag , and standing in a bog, innovative designed to be placed on stage. As she/they begins their 2024 Eurovision caterwauling, Michael Flatley leaps in from stage left holding a wicker hurdle (arm movements allowed for the special occasion.) With immense grace he presses a started Bambi into the bog while performing a fantastic traditional set.

A line of riverdancers with rictus grins and very elaborate wigs complete the process, hammering down on the huddle in turn with a hard shoe triple jig, arms held rigidly by their sides, as Bambi slips down into the murk to the thunderous applause of the audience.

Future archaeologists categorise the body according to its correct sex.

Troons try so hard its embarrassing. Especially when the men try to mansplain women. Being uncomfortable in your body goes both ways in men and women. Men get uncomfortable with their body too, it's not a woman thing. I'll tell you though that I have never met a woman who was afraid to not "pass" as a woman.
Your a man troonerella, and are showing how different you actually are.

Unimaginable in 2024, Dana International also wore a classic and appropriate dress. Dana had a more extreme dress from Gaultier (with feathers...) but allegedly chose this dress instead for the finals performance because Dana wanted to look classy and not like a clown. How times have changed!

Of course, there had already been a Dana at Eurovision (Ireland, 1970). What's a little skin walking between friends?

"Lobotomy" is actually a fairly common treatment for the most severe forms of epilepsy. For example hemispherectomy consists of severing one half of the brain from the brainstem. It's genuinely quite effective, and more than half of the people who get it will no longer have seizures. Most are still able to walk, talk, read, etc, and it's usually a marked improvement in quality of life over what they had before. Short of that, though, there are also neurosurgical procedures (such as subpial transections) that target specific parts of the brain. I guess the argument is, where you draw the line precisely, because there is some overlap. Lobotomy is about destroying a part of the brain, and in the beginning they would target healthy tissue, while these modern procedures are more about simply severing unhealthy sections. Lobotomy was also primarily about saving money by turning violent patients into docile vegetables, while the modern version actually is about fixing problems (by poking around in the brain).
Not really a lobotomy though, is it? You're not cutting either lobe of the brain, not quite satisfying the lobo- part of lobotomy. Lobectomies (-ectomy meaning removal, -tomy meaning cut) are still performed somewhat regularly, though they're only for physical injuries/cancer AFAIK

Corpus callusotomies are crazy though, they don't sound like real medicine, but they clearly work based on actual quantifiable data on the number and severity of seizures. Since it's performed by real doctors to treat a real problem we are able to objectively measure and compare the effects of the surgery, proving the value of something that otherwise sounds like pure quackery. Something that gender affirming care simply can't ever do.

To be fair, one of the doctors responsible for some early amhole surgery went on to performing other fun human experiments for the Nazis (blanking on his name rn).
Also, I would advise those people who share these misinformation tweets to read up on it, this place was not a bastion for gay and trans rights and even their hero Magnus Hirschfeld had crazy theories about homosexuality and thought it's something that can be cured.
Erwin Gohrbandt. Also Kurt Warnekros, though he didn't become a camp surgeon like his esteemed colleague, just performing involuntary sterilizations. The only one of the early armhole surgeons who didn't join the Nazis was Ludwig Levy-Lenz who I think would have if only he hadn't been Jewish and forced to flee the country.

I have a friend who is a psychiatrist and he administers ECT. He swears that if he was suffering from the kind of protracted, severe, life-threatening depression that they use ECT for, he wouldn't hesitate to have it himself. As with most modalities, it doesn't work for everybody, but for some people it works when nothing else will.

Pretty sure he told me all of his patients were voluntary. Many had had previous ECT treatment episodes.
I had a friend who was going down the troon path. Then he got ECT for seizures and almost immediately stopped wearing dresses and taking hormones (still hasn't fully detransitioned, but it definitely helped). This is purely anecdotal, obviously, and doesn't prove anything, but I thought it was interesting to see it in person.

I don't think that ECT directly cured his "gender dysphoria", I think it helped alleviate his depression which he mistook for gender dysphoria. However, even if ECT was proven to 100% cure GD, there is no way that it would be accepted socially for a long, long time. Too much stigma associated with treating GD in general and with ECT in particular.

Some same reactions. Don't you love how everything is life and death to your average redditor? Absolutely insufferable bunch:

Uk is doing what they did to alan turing to trans kids now.
Alan Turing was an adult put on hormones to avoid prison. This is kids not getting their hormones paid for by state healthcare. It's literally the exact opposite.

This is a well-known phenomenon, usually applying more to mental illness. The same mental illnesses can have very different manifestations depending on the culture. For example, schizophrenia in industrial vs post-industrial cultures. It's known as a "symptom pool" I think. There's a book (which I haven't read) called "Crazy Like Us" about how American versions of mental illness have spread to non-American cultures.

(This is the Scottish wazzock who put up a petition to make"misgendering" illegal in the UK and whose nipple-clampled mini-moobs Glinnner reposted a few weeks back, to great hilarity.)
If this splendid poster (which he tweeted at 1708 X 2040 ) does not cause a Green landslide in Scotland, I honestly don't know what will.

Eughh, she unironically actually did almost exactly this. She ripped off her dress half way through and was wearing the troon flag underneath.

No this is a female "enby" theying out for the clout, as is evident by listening to their mess of a song:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZGRXRrlIspY
Edit: I was so prepared for this to be a case where I was going to like this song despite the stupidity of the artist, but nope. She even does the scary demon voice distortion thing that all the edgy goth musical artists did decades ago lol.

Also, from Wikipedia:

Rent-free
Everything about this chick is so dated. The cutesy dichotomous name, the aesthetics, the singing. This already would have been considered try hard in the mid 2000s.

Being told you can't have your nuts hanging out of your mini skirt at daycare is akin to discrimination. How bigoted of the daycare employees.

Why is this sick AGP fuck dressing in a fucking Mini Skirt AT A FUCKING DAYCARE??
Fucking Troons.
They're so rotted by their fetish they don't even see how fucked this is.
I have two daughters, I never once when they were at KG saw any of the Moms wearing fucking miniskirts to drop their kids off.
Most of the time they'd wear jogging pants or some shit, its early in the morning, but Troons dress like fucking where's 24/7 even in the most inappropriate places to do it.
I'm not a woman, maybe I'm wrong, maybe a lot of Moms take their kids to school with their asses hanging out in the breeze.
But I don't think I am. I know my wife didn't.
Fucking Troons.

The MHRA (UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) has apparently shut down two DIY HRT websites. Presumably, more are on the way.

Who made this kind of takedown campaign possible and feasible?

Oh, yeah, troons themselves. You fucking idiots have Liz Dong-Gone Jones to thank for this kind of thing being doable now. Congrats, morons!

MargieFancypants, the HIV+ moobfeeder who insists he’s a woman but his new child doesn’t have a sex, is feeling frisky. A few snaps from his latest springtime walk, showing off his chin to great effect.

So he's trying to give AIDS to a child. How brave and beautiful.

Can you even believe we live in a world where a guy like this is allowed to walk around, alive?

Don't even get me started. I'm a Eurovision purist. Apparently it's popular in Australia so we took pity on them, like you would a retarded child and let them play. Non euro countries shouldn't be there FFS.
Oh mate, feels. I am Australian and loved Eurovision growing up - it has a massive cult following here. If I wasn't able to get up super early to watch it live with my dad then I basically avoided all media that day - like Americans if they can't watch the Superbowl.
However, once they allowed Australia to compete I completely lost interest and no longer watch it. It's not EUROvision with Australians in it.

I was already annoyed at how little people sang in their own languages, and how commonly people just used to sing for whichever country - I was always like "It should be a singer representing their own country, with lyrics containing their native tongue".

Now with the amount of wokeshit in it (why are there so many ENBYs?), I'm feeling like I'm not missing much.

My friend found this creature on Instagram and sent it to me because it made her MATI and she wanted me to join in the rage.

Not only is he fugly, he is super misogynistic and does a lot of "tee hee I'm a dumb gurl" shit.

I feel like it's a bimbofication fetish page but it's still disgusting and he legit has a micropeen (lmao)
Every day my hatred and disgust of trannies intensifies - they're fucking gross and weird.

Late and gay... I hate it when this thread gets featured, it takes ages to catch up.

He's a foreign national in the UK trying to encourage people to commit criminal acts. If the wrong people take notice of this bullshit finding himself treated like the man he is will by the NHS be the least of his problems.
Admits that he thinks he's being glowed upon, then goes on to encourage civil servants to undermine HMG. Is he actually retarded? Good job he brings in so much tax revenue, or his visa would have been revoked already. (Kemi, if you're lurking here, please do this.)

Remember that formal transitioning has been legal in the US since the 70's, ditto the UK (though I think birth certificates were excluded in both cases).
The Gender Recognition Act was only passed in 2004, at the insistence of the ECHR. I think there was an earlier case where the magistrate pretended that a TIM was intersex because he was sufficiently upper-class enough (the son of a baronet, or something).

TIMs seem less likely than TIFs to have regrets, so the fact that quite a large majority of the upticks in the UK was TIFs is probably causing some alarm bells.
I've always assumed that this was because the regretful TIMs topped themselves. Ritchie Herron is the only high-profile TIM detransitioner, nearly all the rest (Keira Bell, Chloe Cole, etc.) are former TIFs.
