It‘s mildly hilarious that the most anti-establishment politician we’ve had in decades, who just does whatever and doesn’t seem to give a fuck if he pisses off both the right and the center left, happens to be a dude who represented a tax haven in the Senate for 36 years.

Like, you can like Joe or hate him but some of the shit he’s doing right now is pretty fucking wild coming from a career politician. I can literally not think of another person, Republican or Democrat, who would have actually pulled the trigger on Afghanistan, and frankly I’m pretty amazed that Biden did it either.

Somewhat like Trump, he is a dude with really no filter. A lot of what people call "gaffes" or symptoms of senility from Biden are just him saying whatever the fuck he actually thinks. I find this somewhat exasperating from time to time when it's really stupid, but it's also somewhat endearing. When Biden says some absolutely fucked up shit, it's usually because he actually believes it.

He hasn't calculated it to appease some focus group, or whatever. It's just whatever weird shit he was thinking about at the time. He isn't pulling some Clinton triangulation bullshit where every single word of every single statement is calculated by some lizard-people logic to minimax electoral success.

So he really did have his butt wiped?

I dunno, plagiarizing Neil Kinnock's speech was absolutely weird. I have no idea what's going through Biden's head most of the time.

Imo that's actually the worst thing he ever did. And while I despise plagiarism, as politician sins go, well, yeah.

Yeah there's no way the Democrat would win in the bluest state in the country
internet man told me larry elder was definitely going to become governor, and people do not lie on the internet so
I kinda feel bad for Trump. He was so proud of his efforts to get vaccines out so quickly then his supporters hate them.
Him getting booed when he told people to get vaccines is still hilarious to me. If not for his epic gamer behavior between Nov 3rd - Jan 6th, he would've exited office with the last major item of historical note being the success of operation warp speed or light speed or whatever it was called -- which is genuinely a noteworthy success even amongst an administration that didn't have many of those. Now his most ardent supporters are holding him up as a symbol of things he doesn't really think or believe, with his actual legacy thoroughly torched because he surrounded himself exclusively with figures who shared a taste for the kool-aid.

I do find it funny that republicans might have been able to quietly engineer the CA recall to kick out Gavin and get their guy in there (due to the democratic field being so horrendously split between so many potential replacements), but they couldn't shut the fuck up about it and gave Gavin a rallying lifeline in the form of Larry "Never Too High to Carry" Elder

Just like Reagan.
and really any president who has generated a cult of personality. Trump's just was more retarded for the simple fact that they have more extremist views that Trump outright is against yet still believe they are backed up on those viewpoints (i.e. the vaccine).

The RNC definitely could have used this to get someone more visibility for an eventual presidential run. CA governorship is a valuable thing. There's a massive opening here that somebody could use to get in but nope here comes Larry Elder.

People tend to forget the whole quiet push from the GOP to let people who weren't natural-born citizens be president. Because of one certain extremely popular California governor.
