I'm going to continue to say that's a nominal good sign. Before now, focused entirely on optics, it was overly frequent briefings meant to blow hot air. Them not saying anything is a sign that more serious heads are prevailing.

The US has no more bargaining chips. There's nothing to do but pray that they let a few more out. I kept having weird visions (no, I don't normally have visions, that's why it's weird) at the start of this of a horrifying purge across the airport as the Taliban took it by corraling people with bombs, then shot everyone left to shoot. At every step, even as some things I've thought would happen have come to pass, I've always hoped that was just something out of an as-yet-unwritten novel. Please don't be real life.
