Im fully in agreement with that quote, and something I would add to it is, whenever I see youtubers commenting on CwC and saying "its all the trolls fault, they pushed him to this by mentally fucking with him for years", or the even worse "kiwifarms tormented this poor woman for years, and they want moral sympathy now" it just further irks me.
There's no differentiation between some better or more neutral trolls, and some of the worse ones. Let alone, a lot of the earlier trolls did attempt to improve CwC's life in a tough love sort of way, did hold a mirror to the guy, and were about as malicious as a guy crank calling a pizza joint in the 90s. What the trolls and early christorians did do was birth lolcow culture and bring CwC to fame, but I do not think that they're the ones who affected his mental state in the worst way.
Its the current attention he gets, the weens constantly trying to contact him and do all but suck his dick, the people who affirm his wildest fantasies, the people on twitter constantly giving him OG internet appraise, and essentially what null points out. Its the issue that he is mentally ill and is able to find people in abundance who will entertain his delusions, will yes-man him, and don't challenge him to change his life. When I used to see people interviewing him for podcasts, entertaining his delusions about the dimensional merge, the "oh yes, I can see you making out with rosechu, youre quite cute", something just went badly wrong with the dude and humoring his delusions was the worst thing the internet possibly did.
As you say, its the orbiters, the weens, and the twitter stans who I think fed the guys delusions the most. Then you get into weens like ILJ, who both feed and want to take advantage of the situation to their own benefit as well in a more direct way.
