I really enjoyed seeing the sudden downfall of Fallout New Vegas yesterday. The game has been a money maker for Phil in his own words until yesterday, so now panic bells are going off and it is red alert.
Now, Phil is saying that New Vegas has become boring, overstayed it’s welcome, and it is time to get the game done. So Phil admits that he needs to bum rush through this last DLC and the final mission in order to get, fresh, new, hot, sexy games, to his audience of special needs people.
So expect Phil rushing through dialogue, skipping cutscenes, yelling that everything is boring, nervously glancing at chat and stream elements looking for tips, and sweating intensely.

It just would NOT compute in his head. He’d start off cocky when seeing the high viewer numbers with a “Let’s have a great stream everyone *SNORT* and don’t forget to tip if you like what you see!”

And then increasingly go into hardcore begging mode. First with a “Well, as it’s looking so far, it doesn’t seem we will get to see the glasses ACK! ACK! ACK!”

And then increasingly whine and complain “I honestly don’t know why tips are so low! We’re playing a new game and having fun!” Until Phil just pauses gameplay, starts talking about bills for 20 minutes, gasses half the chat, and all but says that he won’t continue playing before people start tipping.

It would be fucking golden!

Surprised he's actually addressing and defending the FFXIII unboxing. That video is my favorite way to introduce people to DSP, it's the best single-video example of how much of a trainwreck his content can be. I've had people in disbelief after I sent it to them and they watched it lmao. Like "how is this real, how can anyone be this stupid..."

I'm gonna make the rather bold statement that Phil is actually entertaining.

Just not in a way he thinks he is.

I mean when you tell anyone about the FF unboxing video you make them laugh a little, when you show it to them. They can't believe their eyes and ears that someone could fuck up an unboxing video so badly. When you add his recent rant to it now its the gold dust sprinkling on top that he thinks his video was good and that nobody else could do what he did because they don't have the know how.

I can 100% assure you that no, nobody else could have pulled that off.
 
Since Bungie will be showcasing the Witchqueen expansion for Destiny 2 today, I'd love to hear Phil go on a salty rant over how "nobody cares about Destiny 2" or whatever during his pre-stream considering his hatred towards Destiny 2.

Absolutely, when people ask me about who the hell DPS is, I usually send that clip. Perfectly captures Phil's incredible lazy attitude and bare minium work when it comes to absorbing games and present them for his fans.

Ohho, the game is kinda * snort * [blaring alarm in the background]

That he now X years later still defends that video makes it even more tragic.

Destiny 2, a game that has been unkillable on at least 2 and a half console generations. It would be on brand for Phil to call Destiny 2 an obscure failure.

The FFXIII series is my personal favorite that Phil shat over, and for the life of me, I don't recall him ever actually playing the series. There's the unboxing, and the final boss where he watched another LPer finish the game.

From my experience the little rinky dink strip mall tournaments at places like Gamestop and FYE are not worth bragging about at all, and its quite sad that he's holding that up as an achievement in modern day. I've been to Madden and Pokemon ones and 9/10 people at them have no clue what they're doing, Most of them are only there for socializing and some of them barely even picked up the game before that day. If you're a legit fan who plays it a moderate amount you're going to crush most of them, if you pay attention to the meta you're probably going to win it all without much effort.

TL;DR DSP probably got that trophy from beating people who didn't even know how to do a hadoken

Same with my experiences playing sports games tournaments at strip mall places. It's fun, and was cool to find other people to play for once (I'm a loser :() but you're playing mostly kids that have no idea what they're doing.
 
Anything Philroach attempts to defend is sure to be something the legacy of which hurts his feelings because he knows it's part of what exposes him as a stupid douchebag. It cannot be over-stated the degree to which Philroach relies upon his long-running narrative of being a dedicated professional who was set upon by vicious trolls for no good reason, in order to run away from the pain of admitting to the world, and to himself, that he's a lazy incompetent cunt who doesn't want to work a real job.

Philroach may be aware of his rep, and know what the truth about certain things is, but he does not accept all of it into his heart and make peace with it. He isn't strong enough to, so he rants out of anger because he's being forced to confront evidence of what reality is.

It's half the reason he gets pissed about slow streams, too, because those as well remind him of the truth of his situation.

It's like CWC winning that Sonic contest, something so mundane that Phil exagerates heavily due to his ego.
 
God who the fuck clings to some trophy like that for over 20 years? He even makes the Uncle Rico’s of the world less loserlike compared to him. The only thing that would have made it more hilarious is if it was a ST trophy but we know there were bigger fish in that game when it was relevant.

Phil is entertaining.

He may be an absolute failure of a streamer, but as a lolcow he’s that trusty ol’ Bessy who really has no business producing milk at her age, but somehow still can be milked for delicious lulz on a regular basis.

He’s also the only streamer I know, where you tune in thinking you’re going to watch some gameplay...

But instead get an hour of a 40 year old man in a cowboy hat, sweating, explaining, blaming, talking about his tahxes, muh bills, condos and stuff that happened years ago, trying to wring some money out of peepul.

Phil is entertaining, but especially when he gets pissy, things don’t go his way and he goes into hardcore begathon mode.
