I’ll never understand Phil’s fascination with walking simulators. Even the mouth-drooling morahns in the schtreem chat think they’re boring, but Phil continues to actively seek them out and keep them in the autism schedule. Not to mention, they always rank highly on Phil’s best games of the year countdowns.

1) He is incredibly lazy
2) He sucks at playing games
3) Walking sims are usually narrative heavy which means less commentary is needed to make them interesting

Yet he still needs to run his mouth during cutscenes or any sort of storytelling. He also does the thing where after he reads a "Dear Diary" note on the ground and proceeds to put the controller down to pigsplain a story being presented at you like a movie. Drives me mad sometimes.

On top of what everyone else said, Phil doesn't think too much on the fact that such games don't inspire tipping, not because he's deliberately making a sacrifice (he can't even spell that word), but because his need for an easy-going time playing video games is Hulk-strong at this point. He can't overcome it any more than he could beat FAB at Guilty Gear.

I'll always wonder what would've happened if evilAJ hadn't invented TIHYDP, because years of that has seriously taken a toll on Phil. Though obviously he would still have a shitty attitude, that's why it has hurt him so much to begin with. Also reminds me of how he likes to claim he uses the hate to fuel himself, yet somehow can't do that to fuel his efforts through a challenging game and prove the haters wrong. Instead he did a "redemption" run of Dark Souls and still looked at the chat literally over a thousand times. And lied about it. Living a false reality is way easier than actually trying.

That's that ego for you. Phil's explanation is WAY better than the game's, in his mind. Also lets him stop playing.

4) Since those games are really boring when they are streamed, means that the wheelchairs have to resort to $4.20 tips in order to have "fun".

They also have a tendency to lack subtlety and spoonfeed you information and beat you over the head with tone and theme. Phil doesn’t need to use his brain to explain anything in a game like Gone Home; just walk around and click on things under “ohhhhhhh her sister was a lesbian and ran away with her girlfriend, that’s what happened, wow, that’s heavy”

Though, from what I know of Phil's bizarre invincibility, this might not even be halftime... Shudder.
 
Serious question, when was the last time Phil streamed or uploaded a video where he didn't ask for money? I mean directly asking, not complaining about views, ads, or whatever. I thought it might be around 2017, but he had his Patreon going so it must be earlier than that. I don't have time to keep looking it up, but I'm just curious. There has to be a day where it all started, right?

Least there is some sort of suffering of his own actions. Greedy ass who can't finance for shit gets drunk and stays up in the morning knowing he has to be well rested for "bouncing back with positivity" for his streams ends up being hangover and tired is great. Of course this will help him with his victim complex and woe is me crap which is most likely what he's going for.
