how has he been blind sided, for years at this point, by a 30 year committment to make monthly payments for the house he lives in

someone needs to put this idiot into a conservatorship and let jasper handle his finances, if he can't make a mortgage payment on $100,000 a year, something ain't right and it's not a conspiracy theory

nothing he talks about proves he's struggling financially

he wants to "get back to making the same money he was making on twitch", but during that time he was in the same situation, still saying he couldn't pay his mortgage, so was he lying then or is he lying now, cause he can't be right in both cases but he could be lying then and now, which is most likely whats happening

Always comical to hear Phil talk about his pro-Street fighter days. In those circles, Phil must been nothing but a sad, tragic joke. Phil really thinks he was on the same level as Justin. Thats just.. wow new levels of delusions

In the West Coast FGC scene, Phil is seen as a punk and a pussy due to him getting punked the fuck out by Jaha and Watson, who beat him in a Street Fighter money match so badly, that DSP stopped the match half way and was forced to give half of the pot he owed.

East Coast FGC sees him as an embarrassment due to his antics at the first ever hosted Winter Brawl in New England. There he pissed off a MvC3 commentator by not shutting his mouth, threatened one of the players for some SRK forums drama, and generally looked like a massive retard by wearing that fucking "Hate Army" shirt and puffing his chest and acting like a parody of a human being. All this while parading that he "represented the East Coast" Super Turbo scene, never mind the fact the Justin Wong was living at New York at the time. So here in the East Coast scene, Phil is seen as something as an embarrassment, so much so that the FGC scene in the East Coast (specifically the CT and New England scene) kind of petered out and slowly dissolved. Although at the time, we were getting players like LordKnight and NerdJosh, who'd become amazing players in their own right. But a lot of the shit he did put a real stink on what reputation the East Coast scene had, made worse by the fact that he never owned up to any of it, and by the time he ducked out of the FGC, he already fled to Washington.

Also quick edit, but you mentioned him saying he talked shit about how he could best Justin Wong. Let me remind you that this is the same dude who said he could beat Alex Valle. Alex-Mr. Street Fighter-Played Daigo in his teens-One of the Top players in the US- Valle. Phil's ego back in the day was matched only by the negativity that surrounded him. I'm sure you've seen this clip before, but this is peak 2006 Phil.

The only explanation that makes any sense is that he really did somehow get another stack of credit cards following the bankruptcy and they're maxed. That still doesn't explain it all. How does someone afraid to leave his own home manage to blow $10k per month?

I hate when he trots the depression out for his excuse for anything and everything, granted he's not the only person who pulls that shit on their audience. I've actually come around on the question of whether Phil is or isn't depressed, and I've fallen into the is camp. Not for the reasons he claims, he is not chronically depressed and at the time of creating the videos talking about his depression - in the vaguest, most generic Hollywood depression descriptions - he wasn't. Now, however? He's had such a shitty lifestyle, diet, and no real outlet to vent or find support, which is a pretty great way to feel like shit about yourself, your life, everything. I also think he doesn't know what he's feeling now and definitely doesn't know how to express it beyond the simplest terms like a child.

I have been actually diagnosed with chronic depression, and have had that diagnosis stand since I was in my mid-teens. We are talking the whole nine here, intrusive thoughts, suicidal thoughts and idealization, as well as self destructive tendencies. Only thing I never got into was self-harm. That's why, with my intimate knowledge of what depression is, Phil's past descriptions are not describing depression. It's not being sad. It's feeling too exhausted to even feel sad. Imagine a chore or an obligation you really don't want to do. Then apply that feeling to shit you love, and even things you need to do. That's the simplest way to describe it I can think of. Phil's just a dipshit who fucked his life up and now has to live with the consequences.

I can't imagine being 39 and begging literally children, kids or teens that are half my age for their money because I refuse to live within my means. So much sadder because the people that fund him actually do work, most even work hard jobs. Absurd of him to ever claim he runs a successful business.
If you have to beg for money nigh daily, you're not a success but a charity case. This also shows he isn't anywhere close to being an adult because adults deal with their problems, they don't expect mum and dad to bail them out every time.

Does anyone else think it’s weird how Phil announces when a whale tips him? He pauses the game and goes “ladies and gentleman” like it’s a big deal to people watching the gameplay that he got money. No other streamer really does this, they’ll thank the person and say their name depending on the amount, but they don’t announce it like the chat is blind and can’t see the pop up. Idk maybe I’m explaining it poorly but there’s definitely something about the way he informs people when he gets money
