Couldn't watch the race, what a shame, seems it was a good one and the highlight reel doesn't really carry the same punch.

Though some thoughts: Bottas is done. This was just icing on the cake and RBR should go take a whip to FIA to reign in Mercedes and their shitshow. I swear to god, if there had been no McLaren involved and Bottas had crashed into the RBs directly, I would never even humored the thought that it is anything but a deliberate act. This way, it's plain to see that Bottas just did a really lousy mistake, but the penalty is so insanely light, it might as well be a freebie.

Vettel seemed to have had a great race and now gets fucked in the eye-socket by FIA bullshit. F1 rules demand that there needs to be 1l of fuel to be tested at any time during the race weekend and now Vettel's tank is too low... but the thing is: The fuel line itself holds 1.7l of fuel, so there's still enough fuel in the car to satisfy that requirement. AM is going to contest FIA's decision and I am really eager to find out how they will decide it. If they go "Nuh-huh, the fuel needs to be in the tank for no fucking reason, we don't care that it was 2l in the car in total!" I am going to piss boiling blood for a good week.
The rule does not specify where the fuel comes from, if they have to suck it out of the fucking fuel lines, so be it. As long as there's 1 fucking litre, that's all that matters.

Ticktum dropped as Williams development driver

Ticktum dropped as Williams development driver

Dan Ticktum
Williams development driver Dan Ticktum has been dropped by the team after less than two years in the role.

The Formula 2 driver, who was twice released from the Red Bull programme, was handed a Formula 1 lifeline by Williams in December 2019.

The team signed him as their development driver for the 2020 season, a deal that was extended into this year’s championship.

He has spent a lot of time working in the simulator at the team’s factory in Grove and has also impressed in Formula 2, currently occupying P4 in the standings.

Given such strong form, he was thought to be on the team’s list of candidates to replace George Russell should the Briton be called up by Mercedes.

It now seems certain that will not be the case though, with the British team informing the official Formula 1 website that he has been dropped.

The news came after details emerged about comments Ticktum had made regarding Russell’s team-mate, Nicholas Latifi.

Streaming on Twitch while playing Call of Duty: Warzone, the 22-year-old sang: “Do-be-do-be-do, Latifi is poo, Rosberg is a cheat.”

He repeated “Latifi is a poo” before adding “why does that still make me laugh?”

One of his Twitch viewers was not impressed, writing “I mean he’s in F1, you’re in F2…”

Ticktum turned his ire on that commentator.

“I mean he’s older than me, he paid to get there,” he said. “Moron. F**king idiot.”

Kicking the viewer off his channel, he ranted: “I’m bored, go away, like I don’t want someone like that on my f**king channel. Goodbye.”

Ticktum then explained to the friend he was playing with, who said he would “rather be the best in F2 than the worst in F1”, that it is “not like divisions, it’s not like League 1 and the Premier League, where you come up through the ranks.

“And just because you don’t get to Formula 1 in motorsport it doesn’t mean you weren’t good enough to get there, you know what I mean?”

On Instagram though, the 22-year old has claimed the comments made had nothing to do with him being dropped, with that decision being made prior to the stream.

“Myself and Williams parted ways before the recent Latifi incident, just so people know,” he said.

“It wasn’t announced until now as there was no option for an F1 seat in 2022 for me.

“Thank you to Williams for the opportunity! Hope to work together in the future!”

Ironically, Ticktum’s criticism of Latifi came as the Canadian raced to his first ever top-10 finish in Formula 1, bringing his FW43B home in seventh place at the Hungarian Grand Prix, ahead of the much-lauded Russell, who was P8.

Ticktum is his own worst enemy. He's fast and can get results but he's not going to get anywhere in this era the way he behaves. In the 90s and before he would have been fine but definitely not now.

Turns out I was wrong. In the hybrid era, fuel may not be taken from the fuel lines, it needs to come from the tank.
Aston Martin claims that according to the fuel consumption measured by that FIA probe during the race and the amount of fuel they tanked before the race, there should be 1.44l inside the tank even after the 300ml have been removed. They claim that the pump to remove the fuel is broken and will ask to replace it, in order to provide the fuel sample.

Replacing the pump would be allowed in this case. But this will happen after the car has been brought to France and replacing the pump will happen under the watchful eye of FIA marshals.

So long, fuck-stick.

Was funny to see him talking shit and calling Latifi a hack who only got there with daddy's money, now he's out of a job and Latifi has two championship points.
He'll probably be back for someone else. That's guy is Teflon somehow.

Deliberately crashes someone out under the safety car? Gets a short ban then comes right back.

Gets dropped by RedBull young drivers program? Get picked up by them again then dropped... again.

Gets picked up by Williams Young driver program and hired as their F1 development driver then dropped for being an idiot on stream? He'll somehow work his way into another team.

I don't know if he has dirt on Jean Todd or what but he's apparently the cockroach that's going to survive the nukes he keeps dropping on his own career.

Two year ban, one year suspended, meaning he only got a few races in Formula 3 and then had to spend the next year bumming around waiting to do a third of a season in Formula 3 at the end of '17, bummed around in various regional leagues and Macau and just two F2 races before he finally managed to score a F2 seat for 2020. When he earned that ban in MSA Formula he was racing alongside Lando Norris, that's how far that set his career back.

Not gonna lie he's fucking persistent and he has more than a lick of talent but there's so many other drivers who can do what he does and not make an embarrasment of his team.

I know my existence in this thread is to post about anything not F1 related, and I enjoy it somewhat.

Valentino Rossi has announced his retirement from full-time competition in MotoGP.
Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi has announced that he will retire at the end of the MotoGP season.

Speaking at a press conference before the Styrian Grand Prix, the 42-year-old Italian said "it's a very sad moment".
Rossi, whose Grand Prix career has spanned 25 years, is the only rider in history to win World Championships in 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP.

"It's difficult to say and know that next year I will not race with a motorcycle," Rossi said.

The man started in 2000 and kept going through to this year - a longevity that stands out across all of racing, regardless of two or four wheels, national or international.
He also is in a super-elite club of seven-time champions in the top of his discipline of racing: NASCAR has three 7-times, Formula 1 has two with Michael and Lewis, V8 Supercars in Australia has only one.

Valentino Rossi is unique in the racing world that everyone likes him and wanted him to get his 8th title some day. He'll always be the GOAT of Motorcycling.

Is Ticktum the DSP of motorsport? Josh Revell is probably working on a video about Ticktum's antics as we speak.

Rossi is definitely one of the greats.

But for mine, Mick Doohan is the motorcycling GOAT: he had a huge crash that almost cost him his leg, yet not only did he get back on the bike, he ended up winning 5 consecutive 500cc World Championships whilst having a permanently fucked-up leg. As an added bonus, he's Jack Doohan's dad and Michael Schumacher named Mick after him.

You're right, he is teflon. I appreciate that he is quite a quick driver but he has never looked like the next Senna so I am amazed that he has remained near the top level of motorsport for so long despite his antics. I wonder if there is more to him than meets the eye. Perhaps he is very talented at developing the car or less of a twat behind the scenes? Or, more likely, he just has shed loads of cash.

Or he knows where the bodies are buried?

I think he's got enough British sponsor money behind him to stay in junior formulae for all of time; but his main issue is that while he consistently does good performances behind the wheel, he isn't an obvious hyper-talent like Piastri or marketable to a huge audience like Zhou or backed with insane money like Shwartzman. He is currently 4th in F2 standings, even though he isn't driving for Prema. All three I mentioned here are ahead of him in the standings and if he wants a team to take him seriously, he is gonna have to beat all three of these.

He got distracted by more momentous events.

Vettel disqualification review unsuccessful.

Have the stewards ever overturned their own decision on review rather than the team having to go full appeal?

Correction: I was copying @Full Race Replay not @LiveFromNS
LOL, I thought something was wrong there given I am not in top 3 of standings! Thanks for clarifying! HAHA
If Hamilton is really that affected then some races might be very hard for him. Or he is just fishing for sympathy by making himself more vulnerable.
I think personally is faking it so he can make him self look even greater when he beats the spectre of Covid and wins his 8th title. But if he was faking it, he did a pretty great acting job to sell it. He did seem quite spent. Let's hope this happens rest of the year and it affects him adversely. Then they will all start crying that Max only won WDC because Lewis was suffering. Can't fucking win.
Couldn't watch the race, what a shame, seems it was a good one and the highlight reel doesn't really carry the same punch.
I will assume you got to watch it finally? If not you def should.

The final FE race, even though its like watching lawnmowers, was quite wild. I enjoyed it, but what an odd series of events.

The Nashville and IMS Indy races were great too. I think I am getting back into Indy now. With Grosjean being there, and doing well, (as is Ericsson too!) and the new guys like Palou, Herta, O'Ward etc, I am finding the races quite enjoyable. Plus pretty competitive, 9 different winners this season.

And Nascar raced the IMS day after Indycars and this happened:

Finally, caught an article about the Spa CEO being killed along with another woman by the CEO's husband who also ate a bullet. Wonder if he busted in on a lesbo affair or something? She kinda looks butch and was a racing driver, you know a MAN thing! LOL Weird situation, doubt we will find out reasons behind it all.

SPA CEO FOUND DEAD AFTER SUSPECTED MURDER

Aug 15 2021

Nathalie Maillet, CEO of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit that will host Formula 1’s Belgian Grand Prix later this month, has been found dead after what is suspected to be a murder.

Maillet was found dead in her home in the town of Gouvy on the Belgium/Luxembourg border in the early hours of Sunday morning. She was one of three bodies found with gunshot wounds, along with that of another woman and a man.

“According to the first information received, the male individual used his weapon on the two women, who included his wife, causing their deaths before taking his own life,” said a statement from the Luxembourg public prosecutor. An investigation is ongoing into the suspected murder/suicide.

“My thoughts are with Nathalie’s family, her parents, her loved ones and her teams,” said Melchior Wathelet, chairman of the board of directors of the Circuit de Spa Francorchamps.

“I know how much this news will upset our teams and I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the entire circuit team on behalf of the entire board.

“Today, we are losing a highly respected lady, a true leader who will be greatly missed.

“Nathalie had become the face of the circuit, she embodied the passion for racing that we all share.”
Maillet came from a motorsport family and, after studying to become an architect, took up racing in her 30s.

As well as competing as a driver, she became involved on the organisational side of racing.
She became CEO of the Spa circuit in June 2016 and was held in high regard for her leadership and innovation.

Her death occurred on the evening before Spa hosted the World Rally Championship for the first time, with stages at the circuit being used for the final day of the Ypres Rally’s first event as part of the WRC.
Formula 1 issued a statement saying “We are deeply by the awful news that our friend Nathalie Maillet has died.

“The whole of Formula 1 sends its deepest condolences to her family and friends. The motorsport community has lost an incredible person and we will all miss her greatly.”

Pierre Fillon, president of World Endurance Championship organiser the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, also paid tribute to Maillet.

““We are particularly shocked and upset by this news. We were in regular contact over the past few years, in particular in relation to the FIA World Endurance Championship,” said Fillon.

“Nathalie was passionate about motorsport and spared no effort in defending our causes.

“On behalf of the ACO, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her friends and family and to the staff of Spa-Francorchamps. They can count on our support in this difficult time.”
