This is the correct answer. Terry was very much live and let live, and he was interviewed on the topic of trans rights in 2000.

Why did you choose transgender topics (the female dwarfs striving to become recognized as female, the drag queens in "The Last Continent" , Sergeant Nobbs explorations of his female side in the recent books)? Was this motivated by political activism of your side for gay or transgender rights, personal experiences or you being witness of struggles of transgendered friends or relatives?

None of the above. The dwarfish issue arose originally out of the established fact that fantasy/folklore rarely deals with female dwarfs and acts as if they don't exist. Ergo, females dwarfs exist and look like male dwarfs, ergo, their society does not differentiate between the sexes once the kids are weaned, ergo this society is going to *very interesting* to write about when it comes into contact with human society. I have to admit that unfolding it, and exploring the issues in my own mind, has been fascinating.

Nobby? Well, Nobby...is exploring the wonderful world of being Nobby. I've never though of him as gay; in fact, given his general repulsiveness, he probably doesn't even get much of a chance to be straight :-) And the 'Priscilla' take-off in TLC was because a) it's a really great Australian movie and b) as a frequent visitor to Oz I'm always amused at how firmly rooted gay culture appears to be there. And there were 'run on' jokes, since as Rincewind's complete failure to understand what's going on, and the poor girl who's joined the trio to replace her brother...

The people I know who are gay (and one transgendered, I think -- like the dwarfs, I don't ask people what they're not prepared to volunteer) are mostly within SF/fantasy fandom which appears, at least, to be quite amiable about people's sexuality so long as they don't act like a jerk.

So far all your transgender characters have been male to female oriented (or female to female if one chooses that view). Can we expect some of the other direction?

Did you intend parallels from Angua's, the werewolf's situation, in "Feet of clay" to the coming out problematic of gay, lesbian and transgender persons?

I invented Angua simply because I could see the character depth available with a person who is half wolf, half human and not at home in either society. I had no other motive, but it soon became clear how the parallels were developing.

This shows a man who's very tolerant of others, but ironically it'd be enough to get him cancelled today - he basically says that he's not really interested in writing about specific LGBT themes and is only interested in writing stories, and that none of his characters are transgender.

Plus his jokes are "transmisogynistic" - Cheery is satirising the fact that fantasy dwarves are always male, and it's funny to think the dwarf is running around in a chain-mail miniskirt but still has a beard (just one with flowers in it). It's funny that Rincewind doesn't know the "woman" he's talking to is a man in a dress, or that there's an actual woman who keeps getting mistaken for a drag queen. It's funny that Nobby is a visually repulsive man who keeps dressing up as a woman.

I enjoy that one of the arguments is "Oh well if this sign is fine, then why did you take it down?" and the guy's response is literally just "I was going to be nice until you kicked off". The man's spot on - "nobody confronts you about this, but everyone's just humouring your gender identity because you don't look or act like a woman" - and of course the only response is just to go "Oh really. NO U".

I distinctly remember seeing an old woman at the gym wearing heels on a recumbent bike once, but it was just funny and not creepy like it would be if a troon attempted the same. One of the staff asked her to put on appropriate shoes after about 10 minutes and I guess she left.

Aberdeen Washington. The store is Sucher and Sons Star Wars Shop and the old man is Don Sucher.
The tranny is Tiesa Meskis (real name Nathan Kennedy, I'm not sure why he's gone for a Baltic name) and he's a member of the city council and as such his phone number is publicly available as 360-581-7598. Surprisingly, this uwu dainty female is a lesbian (and a programmer), must be one of those lipstick lesbians I've read about.

Here's his Reddit account ("May you walk with me in peace, even if we disagree." LOL), his twitter (surprisingly unused), his Instagram, and his Soundcloud ("I am a DJ in the virtual world of Second LIfe and maybe one day in the real world", the account is old so I don't know if he still uses Second Life), even his MySpace. You can easily find more accounts by looking up valasule.

He and his wife run a store that sells essential oils and organic soaps and lotion ("made with bees wax and borax").

Apparently he's in his first year as a city councilor and presumably trooned out since then judging by the fact that his council profile still has Nathan Kennedy in the URL and a picture of him in a suit). I'm sure his constituents are thrilled.

Biological Woman has to run to the corner store: Throws on sweatshirt, puts hair in ponytail, leaves.

TIM has to run to the corner store: Spends three hours on hair and makeup, settles on full length ball gown after trying on multiple outfits, has to move all accessories to clutch he thinks matches ballgown (it does not), discovers corner store closed hours ago when he finally arrives at one in the morning. A couple of drunk homeless people point at him and laugh. He goes home and tweets furiously about the local store that refused to serve him due to being a TIM and how he was nearly brutally murdered by a gang of transphobes in broad daylight and no one helped him.

different enough to be exotic and white enough to not be appropration. lot of men have fetish for eastern euro women and for more sinister reasons eastern european and baltic women are often stereotyped as prostitutes so that could fit the agp profile.

That's actually a great point that should be brought up more often. A prime example is Madonna. Madonna is an actual woman, and was considered a sex symbol back in her youth. She has the wealth and best resources available to fight back aging, and yet, she's still looks 100% unmistakably old. Worse, despite having access to the best plastic surgeons money can buy, her procedures only succeeded in making her look like a freak. Even she cannot go back to looking like a young woman, and she was one.

If a literal female sex symbol with access to the best surgeons can't go back to looking like a 20 year old, then what chance to these old, hulking orges have at succeeding? They're completely delusional. It's actually sad to see troons lie to other troons about how far surgery can take them.

Thumbs up on those two videos from me :) More people need to push back against the crazy like this old man. The reason we are being subjected to tranny clowns on the regular these days are because they get away with their behavior so easily in modern western society. Any other place and time and they would be locked away in an asylum, and that's if they were lucky.

Trans women are not women, they are trans women. That's not a subcategory of women. It's a category all its own.
