Heh, I grew to accept that by... what? 2010? He stopped pumping them out for years by this point, only doing one every whenever the fuck he feels like. Mostly only watch him for his counter monkeys now to be honest.

I'd be interested to see how his writing degraded, since I actually also liked his written reviews as well, and they were some of the earliest things I've seen from him.

Poor Doug. I honestly feel bad for him because he does seem like a pretty cool guy to hang out with and he does make the occasional good review, but the people associated with Channel Awesome are either just wrapped up in drama or fucking insane. I remember when they got TheAmazingAtheist on there and I'm like, "Yeah, they're desperate to be popular now." I also recall seeing a dude called "Rap Critic" on there who would post like 2 minute videos about raging on hip hop/rap videos (pretty much like "wow he's talking about beating up her pussy dats sexist man this video is so asinine"). That's when I knew they were just not even trying anymore.

I am actually kind of glad they are getting rid of a lot of CA contributors, hopefully the site can go back and really focus on just Doug more.

Game Sack reminds me of something that's just above the quality of a cable access show one would stumble upon late at night in the early 90s, which is probably why I count myself as a fan. It certainly helps that the hosts are aware of their limitations and are using their program as a showcase for the games, not themselves.
 
It doesn’t aid your ‘Critic is just a character, I’m never this pissed in real life’ retort when you film yourself ranting about the Garbage Pail Kids for 15 minutes in your house until you’re red in the face.

Actually, I don't fault Rap Critic for getting upset at Lil' Wayne's Emit Til line ("beat that pussy like Emit Til"). The fact that it was just a tasteless and unsalvageable line (given its relation with a kid who was brutally disfigured and murdered due to pointless, racial hatred) that Lil' Wayne deserved to be called on it.
 
I'm not sure if we're on the topic, but let's talk about Spoony. I used to love watching Spoony, even now I think some of his older videos are pretty funny. Spoony was great for what he was, and I did feel bad for him back when he was going through his depression a few years back. However, Spoony now is just a joke. He hasn't produced a game review in almost a year and his last real movie review was all the way back in February. This is laziness and even his fans know it. He, at one point, was making $5000+ a month on patreon, and over time it has dropped down to $3700. It's not like Jontron, where the guy is gone for 6 months filming a project he was fully in charge of, but Spoony just shits out small turds every now and then to satiate his dwindling fanbase. I also took this little number from his Patreon for the $100 tier.

In the months this Patreon has been up, he has never made a video, and I don't even know if he does do these CAH games. How is this guy living comfortably when he produces a half-assed vlog one every 2 months?

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, either he lives with or he lives close to his brother, who is employed as a cop (and why Spoony gets all those tasteless jokes of his brother shooting a guy due to an incident that happened a couple months back). Spoony's coasting off of his dwindling efame and his brother is picking up whatever slack he has to with his career. It's very possible that, due to his meltdown with Channel Awesome, he's burnt a lot of bridges with all but the contributors that are close friends with him (Doug, Lewis) and in general just his meds and his fragile mental state have just led him to what he is today. I did enjoy his early Spoony work, but Noah desperately, desperately needs to get off the Internet and get some better rehab. The trolling he gets from spited fans and other places on the Internet will always be stressing him and his inflated ego will ensure that he never tries to get better or improve on his situation until he's literally hit rock bottom.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if he likes being SpoonyOne anymore. His last few reviews have felt very bitter and forced, really. He's only keeping up the shtick because the name alone still makes him money from back when he was in top form. He's somewhere close to where Darksyde Phil is where only the most minimal of content and the most ardent of fanboys keep him afloat, and even they can see the writing on the wall.

People have made a lot of jokes about how people like Phil won't make it to the end of the year, but if Spoony is still producing videos by 2020 then I will be genuinely surprised.

Well I think Miles still lives in Arizona, whereas Noah ended up moving to Illinois. Even so, his last reviews were so long ago, it's hard to even think Spoony is the same person as he was back in 2008.
