This might have been covered already but I have a dumb question: DSP worked for a helicopter repair company, right? Did he not have to have any practical knowledge of aviation? Like even a little bit?

Phil is not engaging with the simulation mechanics AT ALL. Easy mode, communications muted, baffled that his audience wants to see the view from the cockpit, quits out or intentionally crashes rather than trying to land, etc. He could have saved himself however much he spent on the Series X and just done a Google Maps + Wikipedia stream or even better played Geo Guesser.

I didn't expect him to be a mechanic or anything, I would just expect you would know at least how a helicopter flies if it's your job to replace parts for helicopters. Maybe it's a hyper-specialized sort of thing, idk

to be fair, phil can't really pronounce or use most words correctly. So when ordering parts, he may have known what needed to be replaced but just mispronounced the part
