You'd be hard pressed to find someone at this point to defend Chris. Not even the twitter troons who care more for Chris' identity than what did to his own mom can defend this.

I meant that the book is mostly about going slow and not harming each other, so I guess if you're going to be raped by a sped, this is a better instruction manual for said sped than him watching some gonzo granny porn and just winging it.

It is not comparable. Barb likely didn't have more than the precursors to dementia then, but it is clear she is incapacitated these days. You can't put those things on the same level. Barb is not capable of consent, Chris knew this, Chris studied it, and he did it knowing it was a crime.
