I looked at the audio again. There are times when it cuts out completely. Everywhere else, there's a constant stream of background noise, but at these timestamps of the full thing, there's nothing at all:
0m 25.049s - 0m 25.114s,
1m 41.194s - 1m 41.295s,
1m 42.186s - 1m 42,311s, and
4m 16.422s. This last one is borderline inaudible, but it's there.
These are the only times the audio cuts out this way during the recording. At first, I thought they were using push-to-talk to do the interview, but the background noise stays there for the rest of it, even as they're talking to each other.
Still, this could be anything at all and doesn't prove anything.
For now, to preserve my sanity, I believe that this is just a very good voice impersonator, and we've all been had.
