I doubt that Kevin Smith, the huge manchild he is, is going to fuck around too much with a nostalgia manchild property. As long as He-Man gets to do some cool He-Man shit, then I don't really care.
Unfortunately, past me was very wrong. There is, in fact, no He-Man doing cool He-Man shit in this show. Feesbadman

That’ll teach you for having hope!

But seriously, for future reference, if they’re trying to sell you on “how big a FAN they are”, they’re likely lying. It’s why so had no faith in Roar, no faith in Revelation, no faith in the newer He-Man cartoon coming up, and no faith in the other ThunderCats movie.

To be fair the thunder cats movie where they crash on earth and become a band sounded pretty cool.

That was just for a cartoon. The movie pitch was far different. The biggest problem with THAT IP is that no one really wants to understand the original and why it worked, so they just try to put it’s skin over other concepts.

edit: I hate posting on mobile

That sounds suspiciously similar to Interstellar 55 (minus the forced indoctrination).
Well, they weren’t going to crash; it was going to be kids that had a rock band that would turn into the ThunderCats after Mumm-Ra awoke. Snarf was the leader.

It’s more like Sonic Underground.

Its one of the reasons I've grown to dislike reviewers that have a bunch of nerd merch behind them and go on and on about what big fans they are. It just feels like they are trying too hard to sell me on it and it becomes too hard to believe.

That's the thing: buying something to try and prove "nerd cred" doesn't mean anything. Sure, your labor bought it via cash, but that's not a real indicator that you actually care about a property. It's just window dressing.

But if you can tell me about the time the VA of OG He-Man and the Filmation crew worked to send a sick boy named Joshua a special tape? Then we might have something:

If Joshua was the project lead of this reboot/continuation instead of Kevin Smith then we would have gotten something better and faithful.

Anyways I hope that kid is still alive and living a good life, if not then I hope he went out happy. God's speed Joshua.
