is that her actual skintone? ive seen her lighter and darker than that. she looks pinoy.

anyway Ribbon Warrior ch63 is out, one more until it ends. i think itll end in a satisfying way.

Kakegurui 87 is out. the recent issues have been fillers examining the momobami family clan. but 86-87 have gambling now.

They're aware Google and Apple are pushing the crusade on anime, but I hope they don't give in to their demands. But if they do and they lose profit over it, maybe they'll be smart enough to back away and go "Yeah no, we can't do this anymore and need to just do our own thing". And perhaps this'll mean manga may stop coming overseas, and while they're still going to crack down hard on piracy, they're aware that this'll cause the rise of piracy because customers from overseas will still want to read their manga but will have no other legal ways to do it.

They're either being retarded, or are between a rock and a hard place trying to adapt to modern practices. Remains to be seen.

Either way, the future of the industry for the overseas market looks grim, but as long as physical media of old titles still exist, there's always something to watch and read for years to come. (As long as the scalpers don't get their way.)

Some online were suggesting that Japanese manga creators were going to censor and dumb down their sensibilities for overseas fans (mainly North American), but I think they might be doing this for overflow of Chinese fans now gaining more attention in the webtoon/manga area.

Which is funny considering that South Korea was rising in that same market two years ago.

Context. The guy who said this is apparently trying to deflect from some controversial statements he made.
Yeah. This guy is just deflecting to try and protect himself. He is in a media shitstorm in Japan over comments he made about the Olympics. So he is saying anything right now to try and get the focus somewhere else.

Funnily enough I'm pretty sure these comments will get him in just as much shit too.

Plus, Kadokawa makes far too much money from sexual LN's to switch course now lol

Edit: That twitter thread is great and covers everything.

I do not understand the autistic amount of hate around Code Geass R3.
Haven't seen it myself, but I think it falls into the territory of dislike towards what feels like milking a series by making an unnecessary sequel series that has the potential to negatively impact enjoyment of previous series. There are numerous examples of this not just in anime, but the wider media landscape that would make most people think on the negative side when something new is announced for a franchise they liked, especially if there's been a large time gap.

To be fair, unnecessary sequels actually seem to be pretty rare in anime. The Japs love their spinoff series but those tend to be non-canon or questionably canon at best.

I just wanna see more Holo and Kraft Lawrence doing some medieval trading. 🥺

Oh, and Haruhi.

I work chiefly in sex offense investigations and today I had to sit through a meeting with a sex offender counselor who told a group of professionals about a new form of pornography called anime, and how it should be confiscated if any is found to be owned by a sex offender. According to her there is also an even newer form of anime called hentai, and it is all child pornography. She believed fully that hentai was and should be treated as child pornography and the grounds for an arrest.

After that the presentation veered off into roblox and VRChat being proxies for rapists to fondle kids online and rape their avatars. There was no shit a picture of Ugandan Knuckles in this presentation.

She was paid for this presentation and it was given to state and federal law enforcement officials. I do not have a better place to share this but I was so torn between wanting to break down laughing and being mad that it just validates my continued disdain of and suspicion of any so-called "experts" in any field.

Sorry to veer slightly off topic or power level but I think that is the only time I have ever heard anyone mention anime in my professional life and I have been hiding my immense weebdom for well over a decade at this point.

whats this? you did some sort of sex act and now are a sex offender? no more jojos for you.

I have been reading Fate/Type Redline and if you are familiar with the Fate franchise and want to read a more dark take on it, then I'd definitely recommend this because it is a pretty brutal story that takes place during the final days of WWII-era Japan and it has some really well drawn panels to boot.

One series I unironically wish would get a sequel is Darling In The Franxx (bite me).

Having been rewatching it, while yes, the last act of the show is extremely messy, I still ended up liking the series overall, mainly due to Hiro and Zero Two's relationship. Not to mention that its ending actually does have several unresolved plots that could be explored in a second season. There's a reason that some are still asking for one to be made; both to give the series a proper non-underwhelming ending, and to see more of the characters.
