I was debating on making this its own thread seeing as to how much there is, but the scale it's on is pretty small. But boy, when it happens, it's a dog and pony show. So, I figured I'd drop it here. I've been holding onto this "drama" for a while and let me tell you, it's certainly something.
So, as a little bit of an introduction to what I'm about to drop on you, let me give a bit of context. Cookie Run is a series of mobile games which has been brought up on the farms a few times due to its absolutely horrendous fans. The fanbase (or at least the vocal majority of it) is full of rabid SJW's. This is attributed to a couple of things, including the fact that some of the cookies use they/them pronouns (I'm unsure if this is actually the original intention of the developers, as they're Korean and the game goes through translation before hitting the American market) and because it's, er, a "diverse" game (I'll expand upon this in a moment). Either way, the fanbase is nuts, and they're always complaining about the game.
What about this cute, benign gacha game about running cookies possibly do to upset this crowd, especially since there's so much there to pander to them? Well, dear Kiwis, as we all know, it doesn't take much.
Now, Cookie Run has a huge collection of cookies, seeing as to how the series has been kicking since around 2009. Most of them, being cookies, have a darker shade to their color palette. Enter the SJW crowd, claiming that these cookies—which are literal dough—are POC and will attack any artist who draws them a bit lighter, er, "skinned" than they are presented in the game.
Devsisters (the developers of the game) love to support the fanbase by reposting art, but when they do, shit like this happens:
Luckily, this really wasn't a huge deal, and there are many people who just tell these folks to shut up in this particular instance, but there are so many times this fandom throws a hissy fit over someone drawing a cookie with a lighter "skin" tone. I actually vaguely recall seeing a post about "whitewashing" the cookie cast as far back as 2013, so this isn't a new thing for this fandom. The cancer just spread to Twitter as well, as most Tumblr ideas did.
But oh no, we aren't done. No, no, no. This is just the tip of the iceberg. This fandom has so much more to offer.
It isn't only artists fans go after. They go after the actual developers. A lot.

I'm sure these are not all the instances of the Cookie Run fandom freaking out about "racism," and there are several other instances of complaints on other topics (shipping, non-binary cookies, etc.), but compiling this shit is making my head hurt. I'll give some miscellaneous sperging before closing the post out.
Before I finish, I just want to ask this: If the game is allegedly so "problematic," why on God's green earth do these kids keep playing it? Why do they keep watching the ads and spending their parents' money on it? I've only seen one person in all these posts I've combed through actually drop the game because of the "racism." According to you, Devsisters is being malicious and actively hurting minority groups. Then why are you going to continue to support them?
Maybe it's because, and I'm just spitballing here, your activism is performative, or maybe, just maybe, it's not that big of a deal at all?

Now, these two are essentially meant to represent different classes, like in DnD. Not sure of the exact names, but I know Purple Yam is meant to be a berserker. He often acts in an aggressive manner, always ready to destroy things. Milk Cookie is more reserved and level-headed. They're obviously a "mismatched friends" kind of archetype, but what does the fandom have to say on this?
