I’ve just started reading Helen Joyce’s book “Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality”. She’s one of those gifted writers who doesn’t resort to academic language for the sake of it.

Helen has also appeared on a bunch of podcasts this week, promoting the book, and she’s fantastic.

You've obviously failed history classes in school and know fuck all or understand anything about Irish history. BTW I found the source of this, thanks to Singal. It's from a survey of plastic surgeons asking them to estimate how many of their (trans) patients displayed regret: non-peer-reviewed, non-random, self-report of what surgeons think of their own work, essentially. The only people these surgeons counted sought SURGERY for detransition (because they're SURGEONS how else would they come across them?).

I think Lisa Littman's study on ROGD (Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria) examines a potential link between autism and cross-sex ideation in adolescent girls.

Edit: also, take careful note of what this man's logic (that sex = gender is a purely Western concept) says about sex-based oppression in precolonial non-Western countries. Sex does not equal gender, so if you were a girl in Yuan Dynasty China having your toenails pulled out and the bones in your feet broken so that your feet would be small and dainty as an adult, it wasn't happening because the whims of history decided that you were born female in a messed-up society. No, you were doing it because it suited your gender. If you didn't want to experience foot-binding, you would have just declared yourself a boy, dummy! You wanted it, bitch. Enjoy those crushed metatarsals.
