What impact does taking hormones while pregnant have on the baby? Is that why they didn't know they were pregnant?

I would also wonder what other things they could have been doing while not knowing they were pregnant that could negatively impact the health of the baby. Although according to the comments on the video, "Majority of women don’t know that they’re pregnant when they’re pregnant."
