she claims that the bullet hit an artery in her chest, and that they had to remove that artery and replace it with one in her leg (she showed her leg scar too). The bullet would've entered from her back or side, and travelled out of her chest, hitting the artery.

could be a bullshit story, but it the scarring seems consistent with artery surgery.
