Rani and I were acquaintances at best in the goth / freak scene back in the early 2000's and while I admired her early noise work / aesthetic, the idea that there's really anything more to our "friendship" is laughable and a sad part of the "all trannies know each other" aspect of the perception of the trans community at large.

Our interaction here is pretty much par for the course with any time I run into her online which is why I avoid her and have no real interest in being friends with her IRL or engaging with her here at Kiwi.

Powerlevelling is a corruption of powerword and it's what we call it when somebody launches into an unsolicited and unwanted recounting of their tragic life story, as a way of comparing themselves favourably to a lolcow. "I had a far worse upbringing than Chris and I'm not that bad, let me tell you guys all about it..." etc. It's incredibly autistic and obnoxious and annoying, and it happens here often enough that not only do we have a word for it, a custom rating for it, and a forum rule specifically against it on almost every subforum, but staff generally lets me dox the shit out of anyone who does it and add to their life story with a detailed accounting of all their gross fetishes, because they're dumb and annoying.

It doesn't apply to answering questions that people are specifically asking you to answer, especially in a thread dedicated to asking you questions and having you answer them.

Say you're a huge geek who's really obsessed with the vidya gaems and weeb shit and whatnot. That's your power level. A lot of people don't talk about those in public because of the fear of getting labelled, so they hide their power level. People who accidentally slip something out or just don't give a fuck reveal their power level.

But power level can these days be extended to shit besides geeky stuff, like Dynastia explained up there. So these days it means something more like "revealing shit about yourself that's embarrassing or dumb".

So I have this thing where I confuse people's names / avatars and for the longest time I thought David Gallant was David Lindsey, co-creator of Depression Quest, which is probably the only reason I ever gave him the time of day way back when, way back before gamergate.

Gallant was one of those people who fixated on me early on and was part of the weird radical SJW niche that was well established before gamergate. I'd argue he was a big part of why I had so many folks hating on me before gamergate was even a thing. I mean, that's the thing a lot of people don't realize about my part in gamergate is that I was the only indie dev before GG hit that was really fighting head to head with all the socjus people gamergate would eventually dig up dirt on.

Anyhow, I hardly remember any of my original interactions with Gallant other than I know he kept company with a troll known as Fake Robot Gamer as well as the Fuck No Video Games crew and he spent a lot of time harassing me and metaphorically jerking off to socjus long before he got off to gamergate.

He's the personification of unchecked mental illness in the SJW indie gaming community imho, and I only feel sorry for him, and for myself for ever giving him the time of day and letting him and his fucked up circle have influence over me.

So yeah, sorry. No funny stories. Just sadness with that dude. :/

Actually we finished the entire design! It's ready for manufacturing and the design info was released to the public. I just mismanaged the remaining money because, yeah, I got facial surgery the year before and finally being accepted as a woman was definitely doing my head in. :/

I still might end up building the Console (I have other interested manufacturers) but I gotta get back on my feet first.

The funny thing about my failed kickstarter is that I spent half the money on the design, so it wasn't like I took the money and ran. Also I'm paying everyone back (already paid back about half of what I owe) , so I'm pretty much out all the KS money + the money I spent on completing the design, but no one really cares for the truth when it comes to the dramaz. :/
