While I have some sympathy for detrans people, this sort of thing is exactly why it's somewhat reserved. Even though the tiny trans community has somehow browbeaten most people into going along with the troonsanity, I just don't buy that none of the people who are closest to the future detrans person tried to dissuade them. And most likely they were guilt-tripped or even directly shamed for doing so by the detranser. I know they had been brainwashed by a cult, but that doesn't justify what they did, and as far as I know they never seem to take the time to apologize to all the people they emotionally abused on the road to transition.
Those tiny women who act aggressive and insulting and instantly try to escalate any sort of disagreement into a violent confrontation, secure in the knowledge that as a tiny woman the man they're haranguing will probably not retaliate and their target will get swarmed by white knights are the true female equivalent to the psychotic male troons. TiFs (not counting the ones who don't even remotely try to look like men) genuinely do tend to lose all female privilege without gaining much male privilege. Very few men would physically respond to a 5'1" woman in public, no matter how aggressive and insulting she is, but wouldn't hesitate to put a scrawny 5'1" man in his place. If one of these little tough-gals actually tried to transition and keep on behaving this way she would literally die within a year.

I don't think it's a uniquely American problem. Most developed nations seem to have an attitude of letting people do whatever they want as long as it doesn't affect them personally, but also that's why the trans rights movement is going to become an absolute car crash.
Letting people change their sex on their license? Whatever. Letting men into women's spas and restrooms and showers so they can whip their girldick out and wave it around at you? Or your daughter? Nope.

I find myself losing sympathy for detransitioners more and more, because of how they act before they 'wake up'. Even the FTMs annoy me now. I know they're mostly teenage girls who were often brainwashed into hating themselves, but at the same time they spew the same vile misogynist bullshit as everyone else for years and years. They scream about TERFS online. They get subs and accounts shut down. They suicide bait their parents. And then they detransition in their twenties, and they want all the empathy and pity. Like you said, it would be so nice if these detransitioners recognised the shitty things they did when they were in the cult and apologised publicly, but that doesn't happen a lot.

To be fair what real insensitive they have to do that? True public apology is hard, both because it set you being ridiculed and may come across uncomfortable those that apology is targeted towards. Consider that most of their mistakes are old news, it's not unusual that it takes years to undo brainwashing like that, many if not most cases people hurt have moved on and would prefer not think about hard times. They might even get mad because you are opening old scars for what? You to do "the right thing" and making a show of self improvement? So you might not going to get much out of it, not yourself not to people you hurt. Telling their personal stories at least you get put in words your feelings, something that does help with healing and learning healthy coping skills. It also has potential for others to see themselves in there before they go down the wrong path or realize they don't have to stay in the trans cult.

The second is that he does not care what he has to do to be famous, even if it involves cutting his face up.

I see what you mean, but I do think it could help. And perhaps I was unclear - I don't mean that these people should publicly apologise to their loved ones and friends and intimate relations, but more about things that they did in public.
Personally it would give me a lot of hope if a detransitioner came out and said "I got that account/subreddit/whatever banned three years ago, (or) I went to this and this protest and punched a woman in the face, (or) I told JK Rowling I hoped she got raped to death, and I was wrong and behaved badly, and I apologise." There's no grovelling or humiliation needed, just some taking of responsibility. It might stop some young people imitating that crappy behaviour too.

Honestly, the more TIFs I meet, the more annoyed I am with them. There's the butch lezzy TIFs who are mostly normal, maybe have an anime addiction. Maybe autistic. Those are usually fine. But any other amalgamation of female personality + TIFness = narcissist with victim complex. Every now and then one of them with some cluster b will pitch a fit in gc / rad spaces about the rampant transphobia within. There's a lot who enter gc / rad spaces expecting to find a brand new hugbox after exhausting what was available to them in trans spaces, straddling the line between having their trans identity respected and getting asspats for being a female.
The straight female (gay trans man) ones are obviously the worst, due to not having any real problems. But no matter what, eventually they decide their dysphoria is too great, and they go write thunkpieces on tumblr about their experience among TERFs who like, were all so transphobic, racist, ableist, etc... after the asspats stopped. The ones that detransition do almost the same thing. Every couple weeks they're like "guys... the dysphoria... it's so bad. I'm just gonna be a man again. Someone comfort me for hours or I'll do it."
The emotional manipulation tactics from trans spaces doesn't disappear from a person's psyche once they leave them. It's just instead of "call me a man or I'll suicide" it's "be nice to me or I'll trans again."
More frustrating than this cycle is the stubbornness most gc / rad spaces have in not recognizing this pattern. Really, the whole community does too much in not recognizing and inoculating against cluster b's and other attention seekers. We all gotta be "nice" and waste time making sure our tards are wrangled. I already have to walk on enough egg shells in irl LGB spaces just to be there, I should be able to call a narc a narc in rad ones.
