The dress is also fine. It looks bad because it’s on HER. You can’t put lipstick on a pig.
Combat boots and dresses is also a “thing,” and has been for a while. On the right person, it looks cute. Again, Anisa is the problem here. Not the means of marriage. Not the dress. Not the shoes.

I have a personal theory that it's a form of self-destruction (of the "eating disorder" variety where it's about control, rather than the cutting variety). Whether you put any actual personal weight on the meaning of your hair, nobody can escape the understanding of "It took x amount of time to grow it to this long", and what people do with that thought can lead to things like shaving it all off in a mental breakdown.
Yes it is and you know it is. You even acknowledge it in your post here. The difference is effort, dignity, and intention. Just like with your example of the wedding dress and combat boots, you can tell when even the trashiest of rednecks is actually excited to get married vs. whatever drunken mistake this is.
