Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Pretty much this. To put a historical example, think of the conspirators that assasinated Julius Caesar, they all believed that they would get away with it and that the people would celebrate them, the exact opposite happened and shortly after the assasination most of the conspirators were dead and the ones that weren't had to flee to the eastern provinces, but they too would be hunted down by the newly formed Second Triumvirate.
I'm not saying that the Dems are going to do something like that (mainly because there is no Caesar today) but I think that this is a good example of what blind arrogance in politics can lead you to, it leads to your death most of the time.

They are beholden to two separate wings of their party that desperately want to get rid of guns. I don't hold its because of some overly elaborate attempt to get rid of them so they can go full Stalin. Rather... well, look at Biden's comments. He doesn't BELIEVE the places with the strongest gun control have the highest violence.

Here is a very simple premise. Most Democrats believe that getting rid of guns will lower gun violence.

They earnestly, honestly believe this.

That explains all of their actions. They believe it is their -moral duty- to get rid of guns to reduce gun violence.

there were enough americans returning from syria with their tails between their legs becauae the pkk didnt have food and lived on chai and barebone rations.

who knows if a state militia will back the larpers or the feds. i can see my red state backing the feds because any interruption to daily life is going to stomped on.

now a neo confederacy means all bets are off. but the homegrown militia will be blown to smithereens without a drop of sweat.

Nah, a homegrown militia insurgency would be practically impossible for the government to root out if said militia has even passive support from a plurality of the populace in various rural areas. Nor will the government have the manpower necessary to secure the food supply in the event of the government pissing off the militia types enough for them to take up arms.

The government having massively stronger arms argument has never been convincing to me. I think one of the important parts of the 2nd amendment's check on tyranny is that it enables people to force the issue.

You might not be able to win a total war against a tyrannical government, but that isn't the standard. Revolutionary America could in no way win a total war against the British empire, but they could make trying to govern them so painful that the British would give up.

If civilians have no arms, it's trivial to send in an army and arrest everyone. If you are forced to start using f15s on your own people, that is the sort of thing that gets international attention and threats of intervention from foreign governments. Nuke your own population and the world will declare war on you with huge swaths of your military defecting.
 
Jesus... He's not saying that he would nuke the populace, only that the populace needs nukes to stand up to the tyranny of his administration.

how many of your neighbors are in the militia? how many are going to tolerate the power, water and gas being shut off? how many are going to tolerate empty grocery stores? do you even know how food gets to the store? the feds can easily shutdown highways.

Oh gosh you're right, guess anyone crazy/brave enough to take up arms will put em down when the grocery store runs out of that fancy cheese they like. You act like people don't know how to grow food, nevermind the fact that a lot of the people in this hypothetical militia would be from rural areas with more corn growing in a square mile than you've eaten in your life.
 
It always amuses me how these scumbags work. I pay very little attention to mainstream news. I only glance at the new tab YouTube forces into my feed everyday. But I could tell this was coming just because random gang shootings in Chiraq, Atlanta, etc. started getting pushed to the national news page.

Between airstrikes and nukes it sounds like Biden is trying to speak the Turner Diaries into existence.
