I think it's because both cultures view femininity and being a woman through different lenses. American men view women's lives literally as life on easy mode. They think that women get fawned over and get hand outs by society, and they too want that and think the only way to get it is to be a woman. But in Japanese, Arabian, and non western cultures view women's lives as one that is subservient to men and that they are lesser men. Like, "a woman is weak and must be protected, she needs a smart man to guide her", similar to your usual trad ideology. Men don't envy that position and thus they don't fetishize the role of a woman as much. Some Western men do want to be in that position, but they don't realize that the western women around them don't experience that. They're imitating what they think women experience. It's misogyny folded in on itself.

also in my opinion it doesnt really make sense to compare them to terfs (or feminists in general) regarding the tranny situation because normal men dont suffer from female trannies at all. ftms tend to be completely disinterested in integrating with normal men, they usually stick to other lgbt in terms of who they hang out with. and unlike mtfs creeping on women, ftms couldn't harm a man even if they wanted, if they tried they'd get beat up and they know it.

Oddly enough, I've seen MRA's on the subreddit completely accept FTM's as "real men" but they're awfully quiet about the gay men being harassed and mocked by Aidans for not wanting to have sex with them.
