I think they want to imply that having a vagina is like having long hair, just an aspect that a lot of women have, but not one that defines them. Like, societies pushes women to look certain ways, hence they let their hair get long. Therefore women having vaginas is just something society expects, not something that has to be the case.

In the end, it boils down to dishonest wordplay. Why are they still trans then? Because they just happen to have the body that the majority of men happen to have, but they want the body that the majority of women happen to have.

i think womens bodies have higher sensitivity to androgens due to not being used to high levels of them
so when they start blasting ridiculous amounts of testosterone, their body's reaction is extremely over the top, at least initially
