A few off the top of my head.
Trump goes on about possibly abandoning NATO and terrifying the fuck out of Germany. A couple days later, Pence is sent over in a diplomatic role, the next wee we find out that Germany is doing small concession.
Repeat again for the big Trade Deal, Trump ruffles feathers, waits for them to stew, Pence goes in, a week later a deal is announced.
Domestically, the tax reform. Trump touts up a ton of hopes and dreams, alienates basically everybody, Pence is seen palling around with Senators across the next week, and then everyone is smiles.

It is good cop bad cop. Trump slaps them all in the face, presenting them his big list of wants, and making it clear he is willing to bust balls over it. Pence slides in, says "Do you wanna deal with him, or me?" and presents a more 'reasonable' suit of ideas. In reality, these would be what Trump wants in the first place.
Repeat until results are obtained, nudging down the severity of the second list until they cave.

Seems unnecessary given Trump's been able to do that as a one-man show most of his life until now. Really makes Pence look like he's there as a handler more than anything, especially after what happened on 1/6. I'll continue to pass on this notion that establishment politicians are a necessary evil.
At least Pence has had the decency not to show his face in public since, from what I can tell.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm viewing it from the perspective of someone who thinks, of all the people who fucked Trump over, Pence was the one who well and truly deserves to be thrown in a pillory and have rotten tomatoes thrown at him.
I'm also a guy who thinks RINOs and their ilk can rot in a septic tank. You're not going to ever convince me that they're any more necessary than fleas or ticks. Which is an insult to those specific ectoparasites seeing as they actually serve an ecological niche.

DeSantis, absolutely. He has shown he can prove himself as a worthy government official that puts his money where his mouth is. I think Tim Scott would be a better VP pick to solidify the Black conservative meme into a legitimate adversary.

I don't actually disagree on Pence. The man had no spine and was, at best, an "Efficient reptile" as I put it. The difference in our views is less at odds than you seem to think. The main split seems to be that I don't see a viable option outside of them as of right now. So I am settling for the lesser section of evil while keeping an eye out for options I'd much rather prefer.
This is why I am looking forward to the results of the midterms, to see if the populist push in the Republican party continues now that they have ousted some of the arch RINOs.

It either does or they lose every person who voted Trump who wasn't already loyal to the GOP like myself, effectively becoming a dead party. It's sad in a way because the people in charge of the GOP don't seem to realize that their party has no future otherwise, yet seemingly resist the efforts of others to make it viable to people like myself at every opportune moment they can.
These mid-terms I'm voting independent other than DeSantis, as a nod to him not fucking the state over with covid bullshit. I'm waiting to see what they do in 2023 as far as policy platform and candidates goes, as a measure of if they've learned or not. One thing is for certain though, I'm not voting for anybody who's been in the party since the Obama years or further back. Nor anybody who does any racial pandering horseshit.

If they proceed to squander the opportunity I am done with the lot of them and probably will vote third party or just write in someone from then on. I can see the party is on a good track, but well... I am willing to settle for some less than stellar options as a form of transitory government. As long as it looks like things are on the upswing, I am willing to wait out that swing and not simply get frustrated that the party doesn't goes from 0 to 100 in a single election cycle.
Not directly, but has strong implications for it. This is just begging for a SCOTUS decision and with a Republican Majority they'll likely take it up. Stupid.
