Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

No mechanism, nothing happens. It is like a simple physics problem: if the lever is connected to nothing, why do you insist pulling it will cause anything to change?

Ignorance about institutions is pervasive in American society, right and left. I've always felt that actually teaching Civics would probably remove a lot of stupidity from political discoursr

It's not whether he means it or not, but that his handlers felt the need to have him say it because that's the way the public conversation had gone thanks to Trump. Trump knows how to push something to the forefront of the conversation and how to brand it. The GOP otherwise usually play catch up or let the media do it for them while they mouth platitudes.

Make it a requirement in elementary school, middle school, high school and required to graduate with an associates or bachelor's degree would be a start.

However CRT and learning about how white people deserve death (excluding rich white people and (((white))) people) is currently in vogue right now so its a pipe dream.

I say continue letting them shoot themselves in the foot. The more they cope seethe and dilate over even the possibility of audits and new voting laws the more aware people might become aware of how upset basic shit like voter ID makes them.

Some people thought Trump was Jesus, but what if he was just John the Baptist? If Trump throws his support behind even a moderately popular candidate, that candidate will win. I'd quite like to see President Desantis, personally.

And one important positive from the way people perceive the election as stolen, activist judges refusing to hear cases or releasing BLM and Antifa rioters for political reasons, etc. is that people now understand the importance of fighting at the local level, also.

Even then that was mostly at the behest and enabling of those same Dems. Then most of them threw a shitfit and screamed treason and terrorism when a bunch of Qboomers also Mostly Peacefully Protested, but targeted those same Dems and Republican politicians instead of random small businesses and innocent bystanders. People give conservatives shit for going back to the Party of Cucks and often rightfully so but the servility masking as revolutionary LARPing from the average progressive Democrat is on another level.
