Statements like this have led many to regard Lewis, a leftist feminist who claims to support trans rights, as a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist). In an article for the New Statesman last year, Lewis likened TERF to a racial slur and argued that it’s used by some as a mask for a new wave of Gamergate-like misogyny toward women.

Get your politics outta my vidya!! Scrutinize every female involved in game dev to see if they're feminazis and GET EM FIRED. Ethics in video games!

Ubisoft is pathetic for folding to a self-professed "mentally ill" they/them with a patreon/paypal/amazon wishlist pinned and only 1k retweets. Sales must not be meeting expectations hm? Ubi, that won't work; Resetera only complains about games - they don't play em.

Even Ubi's Minecraft server got leaked.

And an early version of the London map was in the files, too. Pretty much shows most of the assets from during the development process are in the leak.

UbiSoft is probably using one engine for all their open world games, releasing that would be painful for the company.

they have several actually, and watchdogs has it's own (dunno if they changed it, but I doubt it).

I hope the source code leaks too.

It would be fascinating to have access to the full source of a modern AAA game. At the very least as a way for aspiring coders and modelers to see what a professional product looks like.

just give me frostbite and EA can fuck off forever.

Majority of [Disrupt] was built from scratch and uses an aggressively multithreaded renderer, running on fully deferred physically based rendering pipeline with some technological twists to allow for more advanced effects.
Dunia Engine as of 2017 includes "vegetation, fire simulation, destruction, vehicles, systemic AI, wildlife, weather, day/night cycles, [and] non linear storytelling" which are all fundamental elements of the Far Cry games, and little of the original CryEngine code remained in the current version.
The core of [Snowdrop] is powered by a "node-based system" which simplifies the process of connecting different systems like rendering, AI, mission scripting and the user interface.
So compared to AnvilNext (Ubi's big boy engine since Assassin's Creed), Snowdrop (The Division games, SouthPark Fractured, and Mario + Rabbids), and The Dunia Engine (CryEngine forkused for the Far Cry games), Disrupt was needed for the Watch Dogs' series because they needed to fine tune their rendering process? What "advanced effects" did Watch Dogs use besides the little profiles that tell me a 32 year old woman with HIV volunteers as a blood donor?

Remember that the information have passed through a game journalist and that's like a hundred links in a game of telephone. It was also information that seemed suitable for a game journalist. Clicking a link to one of the sources on wikipedia and this is one of the answers:
We built the Disrupt Engine alongside the project, since the beginning. We knew what we wanted to achieve required us to build new tech. This was caused by the density of a modern day city, the staggering amount of details, the ability to cross this world at speeds of 150 miles an hour while preserving all the details, our intention to push the player immersion and the high fidelity of the world. But beyond that, we wanted to have a dynamic game world that reacted to the players actions. Our game direction did not allow for a static world that only played carefully pre-designed scenarios. In WATCH_DOGS, players have the freedom to choose their own plan using a large array of approaches and the game needs to respond to them. This required us to increase the interactivity of our game engine affecting all areas: physics, graphics, animation, AI…
and
At its core, it uses light probes that are baked at the highest quality using a vast cloud of computers.
Highest quality baking.

I'd assume anvilnext wasn't really suited for city scapes in the GTA way and snowdrop was still 2 years off (and I doubt it would allow you to drive through it without shitting itself, you can hit it's limits just running sometimes). and besides snowdrop they seem all to be developed in montreal, so there's probably some overlap in tech or developers.

Just came back here to say that it's still not even cracked. WD2 Got cracked in 50 days, 1 on day one. 3 is currently at 115 days and counting. Guessing crackers just didn't give a shit this time or it's actually way harder to get in.
It's a shame. The game's play as anyone gimmick is interesting, but not enough to make me wanna spend cash on it.

wd legion, as well as ac valhalla and fenyx, are using a newer version of denuvo, thus making cracking them more difficult than if the games used an older version of it. someone is working on a crack for jc4 and fenyx but it's still in beta testing so nothing is set in stone just yet. cant say when it'll be cracked tho. we'll just need to wait. i did get 1 month of uplay+ to try it and valhalla out. game is just mildly weaker than the first 2 and they put more emphasis on hand to hand combat in this one as it isnt an instakill like in the other games

you can also pick up ubisoft games pretty cheap real fast if you get a uplay key, so unless you don't want denuvo on principle after a while you can get most of their games for the price of 1-2 happy meals, so why bother.

I thought by JC4 you meant Just Cause 4, and found this interesting bit of info.

Was Just Cause 3 released with a newer version of Denuvo when it came out? That's one of the longest cracking times on a game this popular I've seen.

i do not know for just cause 3, mainly because i bought it when it went on sale for 5 bucks, but i did at least look into the jc4 one. apparently, it is cracked, but it's an older version of the game and doesnt include any of the newer updates or dlc made for it. the new crack would bring a more up to date version online

Just got done with Watch Dogs 2 and want to sperg for a second. Game feels like it has a lot of potential but completely falls apart thanks to incompetent devs and writers (mostly writers).

All the characters are super cringe to the point that its actually painful to watch the cutscenes and interactions. If it was played for laughs as satire it might be entertaining but they were being serious and its just complete shit. What kind of a fucking retard do you have to be to write this embarrassing drivel Ubisoft Montreal - lmao never mind, they are worse that retards they are French Canadians

The story is one big missed opportunity too. They were so close to touching on some interesting subject like the impact of social media, technology and overreach of corporations on our freedoms but its all surface level and lame, Deus Ex did a much better job of it 20 fucking years ago.

The gameplay started off slow but started to grow on me, especially the hacking stuff and the remote control drones. I actually would have gotten rid of the guns in the game for the player character because it doesn't jive with the story. It feels weird to be able to slaughter everyone if you fuck up stealthing a mission and even more weird that there are zero story repercussions to murdering a bunch of people. Lots of potential but ends up feeling like a sub-par GTA clone with a couple of gimmicks.

Watch Dogs: Legion is still apparently uncracked by the way. How??
