A leading Black Lives Matter activist was shot in the head on Sunday morning “following numerous death threats as a result of her activism”.

Police were called shortly before 3:00am to reports of gunshots in Consort Road, in Southwark, south London, where a young woman, named online as Sasha Johnson, was suffering from a gunshot injury.

Ms Johnson, who remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries, is a BLM activist and mother of two. There have so far been no arrests in connection with the incident.

Her organisation Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP) confirmed that she was the victim of the shooting, writing online: “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has been brutally attacked and sustained a gunshot wound to her head.

“She is currently in intensive care and in a critical condition. The attack happened in the early hours of this morning, following numerous death threats as a result of her activism.

“Sasha has always been actively fighting for black people and the injustices that surround the black community, as well as being both a member of BLM and a member of Taking the Initiative Party’s Executive Leadership Committee.

“Sasha is also a mother of 2 and a strong, powerful voice for our people and our community.

“Let’s all come together and pray for Sasha, pray for her recovery and show our support to her family and loved ones. #prayforsashajohnson”.

Detective Chief Inspector Jimi Tele of the Metropolitan Police said: “We are all hoping that this young woman’s condition improves. Our investigation is in its early stages and urgent enquiries are under way to establish the circumstances.

"I would appeal to the residents of Consort Road and the surrounding area to check any doorbell or dashcam footage for any suspicious activity that may relate to this investigation."

Like being put above the natives and having a living standard infinitely higher that what they could do as a civilization in their own continent?
If Blacks weren't lead on a leash by all kind of bad actors and act like dumb crinimals, they could have taken advantage of the opportunity and live like actual kangs.

If the west, for some reason totally unreasonably had to give away all it's advantages and fruits of civilization for people who couldn't care less about that... Of course let's not question the lack of actual reasons for our current system to exist. I hate the 21st century.

Oh it won't disappear, her party are still trying to infer it was a targeted attack.

In a statement on Monday evening, the TTIP questioned how police could conclude it had not been a targeted attacked "without being able to speak with Sasha regarding the death threats".

BBC confirms Sasha Johnson is critically ill in hospital after being shot in the head at a property in Peckham on Sunday.
Met Commander Alison Heydari said the men had "entered the garden of the property and discharged a firearm".
Ms Johnson's party said she had previously received death threats but police have said there was "nothing to suggest" it was "a targeted attack".
Cdr Heydari added detectives were also "not aware of any reports of threats made against her prior to this incident".

Ms Johnson, 27, was left in a life-threatening condition following the shooting at the property in Consort Road at about 03:00 BST.
On Monday Ms Johnson's party, the Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP), said she had undergone an operation and remained in critical care.
Cdr Heydari said the men who shot her had been "dressed in dark coloured clothing" and had left before officers had arrived at the scene.
She added police were "making good progress" in their investigation but they needed the public's help "to identify the person - or people - responsible".

Ms Johnson, who works in community activism and community support and got a first in social care from Ruskin College in Oxford, has been a leading figure in the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK and is a member of the TTIP's leadership committee.
In a statement on Monday evening, the TTIP questioned how police could conclude it had not been a targeted attacked "without being able to speak with Sasha regarding the death threats".
However Charles Gordon, one of TTIP's founding members, added: "I would like to say that we need to stay cautious and aware - the truth is that we don't know what has happened here."
Imarn Ayton, a friend of Ms Johnson's, previously told the BBC she understood "the incident is more related to rival gangs as opposed to her activism".

Joking aside, she has a kid and I hope she pulls through, realises that life is fragile, moves out of London and just leads a normal, quiet life in the country somewhere.

If she has charisma and connections that allow her to (try) and bring about positive change, she would be better placed doing that somewhere that isn't a warzone, for the sake of her kids more than anything else.

I believe 2 kids and yeah, I'm glad she was not killed on the grounds that being a terrible racist doesn't really deserve being murdered most of the time. Especially when it's looking pretty certain she was not almost murdered because of that.

I can't see her situation changing though. Her surrounding party are already trying to treat the situation like attempted murder because of her political stance and if she got involved in that sort of group in the first place I can't see her having the support structure around her to get out. Fairly life altering stuff though, we'll see.

Fuck no, as someone who lives in the country with a nice quiet life; I don't want her kind around here nogging the place up. She should stay in London and let her future statistic kids fester there until they too are ventilated by other mandems in their quest to out ape each other. They made their fucking bed, now she needs to die in it.
 
Johnson went to Oxford Brookes University, not Oxford University. Oxford Brookes is a 'new' university and has nothing to do with Oxford University.
 
I just wonder about what firearm was used. 9mm blank fire that was converted? It is a good job not exploding in the shooters face. .177 air rifle? .22LR? They got the job done if they used a .303 round from a Lee Enfield. Still i hope she lives, drooling in a wheelchair stuffed in a crummy care home.

Depends who it was. If it was your usual London street thugs then probably a converted starting pistol or similar. If it was Yardies then it could have been anything up to an SMG.

That's the sad bit, every side of the political spectrum is speaking for her. From WS to she should be dead. Maybe she's just a dumb 27 year old who got carried away in the moment and this is a real wake up call? Or not?
