The protections expire once you hit 18 and stop attending. You were a student, past-tense. You are currently not. The law opens up your records as a result.

I'm taking physics courses in university and going for my PhD in a another year I think I use my brain pretty well. I'm also not a criminal. By the way, it's "kowtow" not "cowtow".
