Hamas's charter demands the destruction of Israel and they do not negotiate from there. That's the basic problem. A color revolution won't work because 1) It'd just be the US dictating the people there they didn't vote correctly and 2) The Arab Spring was a series of color revolutions where Obama fucked around with the Middle East and made ISIS in the process.
To give you an idea of just how dumb Hamas is besides shooting rockets at their neighbors and then hiding behind their own civilians, the Gaza Strip borders the Mediterranean Sea and they're still poor. Ancient sailors from 4,000 years ago figured out how to profit off having access to that sea. Really, Hamas could stop with their Death to Israel rhetoric, open up a bunch of warehouses, and charge rent for Israel to store goods at their docks. That's all they need to do to create their economy.
