I'm trying to find if there's any observed link, of any kind between hypertension and constipation. Anything in the sense of high BP affecting the gut blood vessels and the like.

I only get pop website results for "your hypertension meds may constipate you!"
Uh, that's the total opposite of what my mother's going through... as soon as she started talking hypertension meds, her eternal constipation issues vanished.
There might be a connection indirectly. Clostridia genus gut bacteria produce a waste product trimethlyamine (TMA), which gets oxidized to trimethylamine oxide (TMAO) which is a known contributor to cardiovascular disease. I know someone who tested high for clostridia in the feces who had lifelong constipation problems. Clostridia don't get along with the healthy gut bacteria that need fiber and help keep you regular, so constipation might be a sign of high clostridia, which would in turn produce dangerous levels of TMAO possibly producing hypertension.

There are a number of different types of hypertension meds though, so I'm not really sure why taking one might relieve constipation. A common approach in hypertension medication is to lower blood volume by decreasing the amount of water in the body; one way is by increasing urination, but if you had a drug that blocked absorption of water from food in the gut, you would end up with a wetter, less solid stool. But it's only a guess, this isn't my area of expertise.

But yeah, I've experienced the pain of trying to research things like this using web search engines, and would recommend that you use specialized academic sources like PubMed and Google Scholar for this sort of thing instead.

Well, I was expecting to get scientific papers in the results. Back when I was in college all it took was a google search and I'd get links straight to journals.

Now it's all curated listicle LIKE AND SHARE garbage

Yo, is it just me or did Google take a massive fucking dump over the past month? It's almost like everything got drastically more difficult to find overnight. Google was my backup for DDG and now DDG is returning superior results in basically every case.

I went out searching and found this
?????

If the goal of Big Tech is to "cancel real life" and make life revolve around the internet, then why are they making it so hard to find stuff on the internet?

It certainly did! YouTube too got horrible with this.
I don't have an account, I just browse in incognito.

If I check a normie video or two, I simply can't find the music I usually listen to. It's so tiresome.

They just want you to consume content from big platforms and aggregators which are curated for you.

It was mentioned before, but Amazon has definitely gotten worse. Out of curiosity, I did a search for "iMac G3". If this were just a few years ago, I'd see results for any used or refurbished ones. But now? It's just products themed like the iMac. Or the new iMacs. Or completely different things like keyboards.

Only by doing an "imac g3 site:amazon.com" external search could I find any. Had I been really looking for an old iMac, I likely would be quite frustrated by now.

wow

Internet searching really has gotten worse, beyond any shadow of a doubt.

They just want you to consume content from big platforms and aggregators which are curated for you.

So in other words, consume product.

Current Year sucks.

One of us is misunderstanding the other. Incognito mode is to google and particularly yt as bandaids are to cannonball wounds.
I know. I just use Brave and have no google account and yt or search to gether.

I mostly use odysee or orther sites in general anyway. I just have my music on yt like game osts.etc

I don't think anyone else has commented on this one, but when I used to do searches for tech or other related questions, I used to get alot of forum thread results. And usually, there would be a back and forth discussion between the questioner and real people trying to figure it out.

At some point in the last perhaps 3-5 years, I get very few forum results, and instead get cancerous 'help' site results like Quora, or other 'help' sites with a similar format. It seems like Google has a bias against independently created small websites and instead wants to coral you a few 'approved' sources.

My favorite "stupid Q&A" from Google results was when I was looking up something about HP Lovecraft and a suggested question was "Did HP Lovecraft die?"

Alas, they did not go with the answer you're hoping for.

I can't stand browsing Youtube in Incognito mode or when signed out of my main account, because the recommended videos on the right side of the screen always (yes, ALWAYS) contain a cornucopia of punchable faces of late night talk shows like Stephen Colbert, Seth Myers, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, James Cordon, and/or John Oliver. not to mention the shitty MSM videos from CNN or MSNBC with that fucknut Anderson Cooper in the thumbnail.

I was looking at new laptops at Best Buy fairly recently, and when I checked out Youtube at the store's display model, I watched a few seconds of a random gaming video yet all of the autoplay next videos in the recommended queue were Stephen Colbert making fun of Trump, CNN clips talking about the wu-flu, and yes, "mic drop" compilations of Kamala Harris with millions of views.

This is what the normies consume unironically.

There was an "attempt" above this to answer the actual question, but the answer was pitifully unhelpful. None off the other links are what I asked
